NoleOne #1 Posted April 21, 2014 I know about the cover project. It's been a great resource, but there are a limited number of games with covers available. I know that AtariAge has a great database of scans of the front and back of the box of basically every game. Unfortunately, AtariAge has no scans of the side of the box. This means that if you are making your own game covers for a universal game case, then you are on your own when it comes to the side of the box. The side of the cover is important if you want to be able to see the name of the game when you put them on a shelf. Any suggestions? Has anyone come up with something like a generic word template for a 2600 game in a universal game case that looks good on a shelf?
reklen #2 Posted April 21, 2014 I just modified the Q-bert 2600 cover on the database, and in paint erased the q-bert picture and logo, then printed out the Atari age cover, and manually cut and paste the logos over the Q-bert ones. It works pretty well. Especially with later games that use logos, instead of the universal Atari font.
NoleOne #3 Posted April 21, 2014 What did you do for the side?
reklen #4 Posted April 24, 2014 I erased the Q-bert logo in paint, and cut out the logo for the game I wanted, and glued it over the q-bert logo. Of Course you do all this with photoshop, but id don't have that
Lumberjack42 #5 Posted May 31, 2014 We are trying to add more but the issue is getting high-quality scans of the boxes for an almost 40-year-old system. Anyone willing to scan boxes would be greatly appreciated and you can either PM me here or at the Cover Project site under the same name.
