A2600 #5 Posted March 13, 2003 The site where you swapped stuff! (traded in simple terms) you would see what he wanted and then if he had something you wanted you swapped or you could buy it off of him!
Nukey Shay #6 Posted March 13, 2003 Maybe he ran out of junk? Anyway, the last few entries in the old wayback machine turned up Amazon links...maybe he moved over there? Is this the site you were referring to? http://web.archive.org/web/20020124133137/...switchouse.com/

Nukey Shay #9 Posted March 13, 2003 LOL Nooo...you can't actually USE the site (because it's no longer there). The wayback machine just lets you look at 'em. Like this for example: http://web.archive.org/web/20000815235351/...s.com/wwwboard/ (AA veterans will remember that one) So that was the right one? The last entries are dated back last September. video game addict #11 Posted March 13, 2003 I don't know why Switchouse closed, but I'll take a stab and say it involved money. Typically the larger a site becomes, and the more traffic it sees, bandwidth issues arise, and the higher the costs of maintaining it. I remember checking out Switchouse & Gametz around the same time, and went with Gametz, just because I liked the interface better. Plus more peeps I knew had Gametz accounts than Switchouse, so it seemed the wiser choice. Now of course Gametz is a pay only site. So I no longer use it either. But really you don't need a trade site to swap games. You can do that right here! Just post what you're looking for, and have to trade, and go from there. If you have LOTS of trade items/wants, create a simple trade page from one of the many free websites on the net, and link back to that. It's really very easy.
