I was thinking it would be cool to somehow do it at CGE as a bunch of us would actually be there together. Not sure of the logistics involved in doing so, I'm an idea guy.

And speaking of NHL Hockey... When we finally get to the episode covering that game (and the INTV SP version), I'm gonna need short audio snippets from you guys here who love and appreciate NHL Hockey to use in the podcast. I know Rick and Will are not fans of the game, so I'll need to have some backup support on my side!

That said, I'll take on any and all challengers at CGE - and I'm not talking about Rick and Will. That will be a cake walk (they don't care for the sports games).

 

The Intellivisionaries CGE booth is gonna be the happening place. Can't wait for September!

I won't be able to attend this year. I was really looking forward to checking out the scene without the pressures of a game release this year, but I'm still recovering from my previous relocation. I'm also amidst a new house hunt, and expect to move again by the end of the summer.

Sorry you won't make it, DZ. We will definitely post pictures (and videos). I'm not certain yet, but we may do a live stream from the show floor at some point. We're still working out all the details with our show plans.

Wow a live stream would be awesome. Really would love to go but don't think it's in the cards;-) Can't wait to listen to podcast #10 - only listened to a few minutes so far due to extremely busy weekend. I really enjoy doing production for the podcast.

 

As I've mentioned on the show, I modded one of my Intellivisions to output clean audio, so I grab most of the game sounds you hear from that console.

 

And the same is true for the Intellivision 'chip tunes' you hear. They are all played on (and recorded from) that modded Intellivision. I want to keep things that way for the show as much as possible: Intellivision-only for sound effects.

 

Obviously that's not true of the original music in the show - my intro, outro, and the segment 'bumpers' - these are all compositions I created on my synthesizers and studio gear; although they include lots of Intellivision sounds too.

 

And occasionally I'll include other original music that is either Intellivision-related or Intellivision-themed, like songs from the Intellivision In HiFi CD, or bands like Astrosmash.

 

And of course I try to include as much gameplay sounds as I can for the particular game we are focusing on in that particular episode (just like Ferg does with the Atari 2600 Game By Game podcast). Like you said, I think it can really help to 'take you back' to that time while listening.

When I was looking in the Raleigh/triangle area for a house, the biggest problem was the houses were off the market too fast due to demand! Still that way?

 

 

On topic: I dont think Ill make it to CGE this year. Too much work going on.....

Yup. Twice already, I've seen instances of house taken up within a few days of being on the market.
