Is there a reason to own a Lynx I if I have a Lynx II?

I was just wondering, being new to the Lynx scene. This may be a dumb question, but it often is discussed with other systems such as the NES Toaster Vs. Toploader pros/cons, etc.

 

I thought this was a good article from BITD, but there must be more to know from true Lynxmasters...

Yes, the Lynx 1 is cool =) Lynx 2 has stereo and a slightly better display imho, but there's something cool about the mad size of the original Lynx.

I have seen fewer lynx 1s with greatly damaged screens and suffering from internal voltage regulation problems than lynx 2s. See:

I think it lies better in the hands than the Lynx 2. Other than that, the cartridge slot and that auto shut-off are the only disadvantages that I can see. It is a lovely piece of hardware I wish they were not so rare.

I've never owned a Lynx 1 but the more I hear about it the less interest I have for it. I love my Lynx II though.

I have both and pretty much only play the Lynx II because it is lighter and has the stereo sound. The only time I use the original is for multiplayer games.

I really like the design of the Lynx I...its so 80ies

 

Apart from that its great to have a "handheld" for big persons like me (big hands). Plus the buttons are waaaay better built into the housing on the first version - I managed to break the board holding the entire buttons to the front by just playing Toki on my Lynx 2...

I had both but when Lynx I died I have never thought of buying a "new" one. Now I have two Lynx MKIIs and am not planning to move back to MKI It's just tooooo big and feels weird when playing. Plus, the cart slot is a laugh

After I get my Lynx II up and running the Lynx I is going to be used just for multiplayer.

So multiple people have now said they use their Lynx I's for multiplayer. Is their a reason for that?

Removing the games without the curved lip/edge from a Lynx I is torture.

I generally find many of the modern handhelds too small for my hands (I'm 6'4"), but I never thought the Lynx II felt too small for me. Since I have a complete Lynx game collection I will likely eventually pick up a Lynx I.

Lynx 1 is so cool to have in the collection if lynx 2 is your go to lynx. It's good to swap between them once in a while. But yeah 2 provides a much more comfortable experience.
