Time to announce the third round of the 2014 Harmony Games:Thrust as suggested by Liduario

Game Description:

The Resistance is about to launch a major offensive against the Intergalactic Empire. In preparation for this, we have captured several battle-grade starships, all we lack are the essential power sources for these formidable craft, Klystron Pods. The Resistance would like to commision you, Captain, to retrieve these pods from the Empire's stockade planets, but danger awaits, because this weeks game is Thrust!
*since this game was previously used in one of Zero's HSC we use the same settings. (posted bellow ):

(Since all released versions of Thrust apparently feature the same scoring system, scores from all versions will be accepted.)

ran out of fuel! easier to do than in Gravitar.

I'm new to this game but my first take is it may be a better idea not to bother destroying those reactors because it wastes fuel to hover & shoot them. but maybe I just need to get better at it.

Strange, after my game over screen it went to the title screen & my score had changed:

 

do you lose some points before your "final score" ?

is it like astrosmash, with a peak score & a final score?

That's strange.

 

No, you do not loose any points. But the score display in your first shot doesn't look right. All digits after the 3 are more or less corrupted. Also the gap below the score is one line taller than normal. It looks like there is a timing error.

 

Can you please check if this happens all the time? Also, do you remember where and how you died in that game?

it hasn't happened every time, but it did happen again today. both times I died by running out of fuel & crashing with the cargo tethered.

it looks as though i had gained points this time

 

I guess I'll take the score in the title screen as my score since it actually looks like the real score!

 

[edit] oh yeah, the 1st time was in mission 6 & the 2nd was in mission 5.

I just figured out how to refuel !

first time I played, I thought using the tractor wasn't working so I shot the fuel tank & it gave me points so I assumed that was the way. oops.

You should download one of the ROM versions posted above (Thrust+ Platinum is the newest one).

Sorry, I want to play but have been super busy of late. I emptied my office, shampooed the rug, set up my new desk.

 

I still have this and more, stashed in the other rooms, to deal with.

Not unfair at all, at least for me.

On the contrary, it is a great incentive for all players to have the very programmer playing among us.

 

And beating the programmer is a great achievement in my opinion.

After months waiting my Space Rocks cartridge arrived and I still have a good goal ahead. To beat Spiceware's high score.

I couldn't do it in the past harmony games and HSC round but since I know his score, I have this objective as a bonus.

 

By the way, wouldn't you love to know how well you do in Starmaster, game 4, compared to its programmer?

 

P.S.: my current avatar shows a patch (I put the inty botton on top of it...) I won when I played a homebrew game for Intellivision and beated the programmer.
