+doctorclu #1 Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) I recently got an Intellivision 2 and System Changer: That makes one classy looking setup. Will have to think of another place for the whole setup if I ever start playing with the synthesizer adaptor. So two questions. I brought two Intellivision 2 consoles and the power button either turns on or resets but does not switch the console off. Is there a special trick to the power button? While I like the combined look of all the peripherals in the same color, I don't like the controller. I have a spare system 1 controller, so is there any way to adapt a nine pin connector for the Intellivision 1 controller? +doctorclu #3 Posted May 18, 2014 Ok, I held the power button down for ten seconds, released, and it shut off. Cool, thanks!
jaybird3rd #4 Posted May 18, 2014 Yes, you have to press and hold the power button for about five seconds to switch off the console. The hand controllers for the Intellivision Master Component and Intellivision II are pretty much the same electrically, so it should be possible to add a DB9 connector to an original hand controller and use it with the Intellivision II. I've seen pinouts provided by others who have done this already, though I don't recall where. Unfortunately, the Intellivision II controller ports are recessed pretty deeply into the console, so you won't be able to reach them with an off-the-shelf metal-shielded DB9 connector. You'll either have to remove the shielding around the connector first, or find a molded Atari joystick extension cable whose female end is narrow enough to fit into the ports.
