stevenhowlett #1 Posted May 23, 2014 There's an interesting item on Computer and Video Games that suggests Valve are working on Half-Life 3. Although Valve have never publically confirmed this. The article does sound promising though. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/464734/valve-working-on-half-life-3-and-left-4-dead-3-looks-great-claims-counter-strike-creator/
Rybags #2 Posted May 23, 2014 Hope it's better and less boring than HL2. I got sick of the sewer part that seemed to go on forever and stopped playing it so never really got into it. Used to play HL a lot although the offworld part at the end was a turnoff for me in that one. Seems to be a recurring theme in many of the big-name FPS games. Wolfenstein (2009) has a grinding, frustrating end game. Far Cry goes to crap at the end of the river level (although supposedly they rushed development of the later levels in order to release around the time HL2 came out). Crysis has the annoying as hell part where you're inside the enemy base with no gravity, everything looks the same and sometimes takes ages to get out of. The future of gaming is making your character take some kind of drug, then you have to hold the thumbstick forward as you walk really, really, really, really, really slowly for a few minutes. After that, you must play some shitty mini game that has very little to do with the rest of the game. A game can never be totally fun because it would break the number one rule: the player must be punished!
Atariboy #4 Posted May 23, 2014 I still have yet to run through Episode 2. Been kind of nice knowing that there's still a bit of this franchise left for me to experience since I like it very much and Half-Life 3 never seems to get any closer to fruition. Half-Life 2 will be turning 10 this Fall.
