NEW NES Homebrew: Mayan's Revenge WIP

Recommended Posts

We're still working with Sivak (author of Battle Kid serie) to make a new NES game called: Sydney Hunter & The Mayan's Revenge

Here's a video of the WIP (sorry, video quality is bad)

Looks like something from DuckTales. But good luck still!

Am I to assume that ColectorVision is going to publish this one and not RetroUSB like his past work?

If so are you using new shells or donor parts?

Yes, CollectorVision is the Publisher as we designed the whole game

Sivak is doing the programming and audio part

Yep, we're going to use only brand new parts, including PCBs, shells etc.

Looks like it would be a great sequel to Montezuma's Revenge.

It's not really a sequel

It's certainly based off MR , but we added alot more to it

Sure, the first few screens will remember you Montezuma, but after those, you will be lost.... completely lost ;)

There's also more "rooms" in Mayan's Revenge

Disapering blocks, spikes, trowing boomrang, alot more enemies etc.. etc...

Also, I got a message from Japan where people asked a videogame store owner to carry Mayan's Revenge

Looks like we're going to make both NES and Famicom version of Mayan's Revenge :D

Looks top notch! Definitely looking forward to this coming out.

Thanks

We spent alot of time designing the game actually

Doing research on Mayans architecture and music as well

It took me alone about 500 hours (no kidding) only for the map layout (a really basic layout!)

Keith must have spent as much on the main graphics

And you have Sivak programming the game, plus he will take care of the soundtrack (add alot of hours here too)

That's pretty awesome that you did some real research. If you ever do an ancient themed game, hit me up, I'm an ancient historian! :P
