AtariBuff #1 Posted June 5, 2014 Dashing pixel artists of the ColecoVision and Intellivision homebrew scenes! This is your chance to code homebrews of two of the greatest space shooters out there since the early 80s! Experience slave similiar work conditions with tight deadlines and even tighter beta testing schedules. Gain laurels and immortalize yourself in ColecoVision and Intellivision homebrew heaven. And even get bread and water for it!!! So leave your current projects aside and sign the dotted line NOW! Puh, I never made that many exclamation marks in one posting let alone on one page of a whole thread. As Archon development is already running and the collaboration with the programmer is the best possible, I'm looking for a second and maybe a third project to run simultaneously. Not more as all this needs to get funded rationally. I also never ever want my projects to compete with work-in-progress projects or even to-do lists of the fantastic homebrew publishers out there, be it CollectorVision, Elektronite, IntelligentVision, Left Turn Only or Team Pixelboy just to name a few. I have Phoenix and Vanguard on my mind as next projects and I'm actively seeking developers for them. A bonus would be development of the games for both of our beloved consoles, the ColecoVision and the Intellivision to the best of these consoles' technical abilities. I principally have no set deadline in mind except for a possible release in the first half of 2015. Everything before that would be mint. I understand that all developers have current work schedules and even many projects in their pipeline but maybe some of them share the same enthusiasm in bringing these great games to these great consoles and drop me a PM.
Tempest #3 Posted June 5, 2014 How did you snatch up the rights to these games? Is Taito actually friendly to small publishers? Don't go looking for trouble.

VectorGamer #7 Posted June 5, 2014 It would be cool if the programmer includes the tricks found in Phoenix like the "3 bird trick."

+Gemintronic #12 Posted June 6, 2014 If the first plan to attract developers on contract doesn't work out how about a contest? IntyBASIC could use more, er, users. I believe nanochess even put in some handy scrolling routines recently. I'm sure some classic gaming prize would attract homebrewers and give you something to build upon for a shiny arcade quality release.
wolfy62 #13 Posted June 7, 2014 I am programmer useless but those are 2 great games that would be awesome on the Intellivision! Taito had some great stuff, do it!

Tempest #15 Posted June 9, 2014 Taito? I thought Phoenix & Vanguard were from Centuri? Phoenix was a Taito game and licensed to Centuri in the US. Vanguard was a TOSE game originally and also licensed to Centuri.
