Mattel Electronics part numbers / Intellivision launch titles

Recommended Posts

I always wondered if the part numbers on the Intellivision games have any meaning, but it seems that Mattel Electronics just used consecutive part numbers across all products. I checked their handhelds and they use the same 4-digit part number as the Intellivision games.

The only odd thing is that the part numbers of the launch titles (ABPA Backgammon, Armor Battle, Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack, Math Fun) are pretty far apart. Is it confirmed that Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack and Math Fun were launch titles? From the part numers my guess would have been that Las Vegas Roulette and Word Fun were launch titles instead.

Any idea what part number 1115, 1116 and 1117 are or were supposed to be?

Does anyone have a Mattel Electronics catalog for the years 1978-1983? Maybe it's possible to compile a giant list of part numbers.

Do those handheld units have serial numbers?

Yes, check the attached pictures. They also have a 4-digit part number. Pocket Football 2 from 1978 has 1050 for example. Part numbers for the handhelds can be found here: http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Mattel/

Night Stalker for the Aquarius has 4595.

Not sure which other product lines they had during the early 80s.

I only see part No.

Where are the serial numbers? On the unit themselves?

The handhelds don't have serial numbers. Not sure why you are asking.

I have part numbers in the database driving INTV Funhouse, but they're listed as part of the game tables and not available in a separate presentation.

I was asking so I could make a database.
