toptenmaterial
Desert Falcon 7800 is one of the most unique games I've ever played, and a stand out from the usual arcade roster of the 7800 line up. What are people's thoughts on this game?
Classic Pac
It's a good shooter and that random option gives it an interesting twist.
mipaol
I like how you can fly around and shoot things in the sky or land and walk around and shoot things on the ground, making it the only seamlessly transitioning ground to air to ground shoot em up I'm aware of. MAC-42
I like it very much. I'm no good at it, but I like it.
Trebor
I like it - but I'm only good playing it when I take it slow and treat the game like a 'crawler/walker' instead of a 'flyer' much of the time.
Jinks
I like the music. As a small kid I tried to play my cat like the bagpipes to the tune. Didnt work.

7800JAGFAN
I think I mentioned this somewhere here before, but this game made me choose the 7800 over the Nes back in 5th grade(87). yep, sounds crazy but I came from a 2600 backround and when I saw the commercial with this and karateka, which I used to play in the school library I was sold. I still like this game unlike karateka however and would show it off to my Nes friends and it actually impressed some of them. then stuff like megaman and castlevania came out and it was all over.
Paul Westphal
The 7800 version is the only way to play it. The XE version is too choppy to enjoy.

Do you have a POKEY installed and the BIOS updated?

Lynxpro
It's about time Timbaland rips off the music from this game for Nelly Furtado's (sic) next single. Edited June 25, 2014 by Lynxpro
Stevaside
Whatever the music is that is used in Desert Falcon, it was sampled in this old Drum & Bass tune haha...I bought this record way back when it was new in 1999, a couple years after I started collecting Atari games & when I 1st heard it drop I was like DESERT FALCON! lol
7800Lover
I find it one of the best titles for the 7800. The ability to land and hop along the ground is also a great touch, setting it apart from your average shooter.

Granted, the lazy port to the XEGS didn't improve the audio via the POKEY.
Jinks
It pretty much blows away any 8bit atari title. Even the music is not that bad.. Very egypty..
