TXG/MNX #1 Posted March 16, 2003 I just got myself an Atari MegaSTE with a NOVA graphics adapter. i opened the box and saw it had an ISA videocard. i was wondering if this adapter also supports ISA networkcards. Did anyone try it and are there drivers for it. I like to use a NE2000 compatible ISA card. TXG/MNX
krupkaj #2 Posted March 16, 2003 IMHO this supports only ATI MACH and Tseng ET4000 video cards.
t.skid #3 Posted March 17, 2003 To support Ethernet card, there is an adapter for the NE2000 card. http://hardware.atari.org/ether/index.htm
krupkaj #4 Posted March 17, 2003 Yes, I know. It works pretty nice and I am using it every day. But this solution is not the best, because it use only 8 bit for communication, and is not interrupt driven. And last but not least it is not possible to build EtherNEC into the original TT case. t.skid #5 Posted March 17, 2003 Do you know if it possible to use EnterNEC to connect Falcon to a router, to use ADSL connection?
TXG/MNX #6 Posted March 18, 2003 Do you know if it possible to use EnterNEC to connect Falcon to a router, to use ADSL connection? Hmm I don't think so because the Falcon doesn't have a DMA port. There are romport adapters that you can use that work very well.. http://www.asamnet.de/~hilgarte/acsi2ether2.php
krupkaj #7 Posted March 18, 2003 Do you know if it possible to use EnterNEC to connect Falcon to a router, to use ADSL connection? Normaly I am using PC as a router between my local network and catv internet. When my PC had broken harddrive I had Falcon with EtherNEC connected straight to cable modem. So I think there is no problem with ADSL. But be seure that your ADSL modem has Ethernet (some of them has USB instead)

Sorry to bother you again: what O.S. do you use with it? I still have MultiTOS

I have complete UNIX environment form Sparemint. Package of Sparemint is possible install manually one by one or you can try installer like EasyMiNT or OSMD http://sparemint.atariforge.net/ http://atari.st-katharina-apotheke.de/home...&texte=easymint http://www.volny.cz/milarb/Atari/atari_e.html

I'd like to try FreeMiNT/EasyMiNT, but before I need to buy HDDriver; you know, my Falcon still have the original 120MB HD, and I want to change it with a 2GB to try -any-MiNT. I see some MiNT screenshots and it looks good.
Rajah Lone #11 Posted April 30, 2003 Bonjour I have an ADSL connection with no PC, only Ataris. - DSL router-modem Netgear DG814 (4 Ethernet ports) - MegaST4 with EtherNEC, STinG and MagiC 5.13 - Falcon with EtherNEC, STinG and MagiC 6.1 works very well, though sometimes I have to reapply the connection parameters (once per week) : the launch/boot of the router has failed. Bye
