bikeguychicago #1 Posted July 15, 2014 As part of my game room update, I am looking for a scoreboard to record various high scores for both me and my guests. I considered a chalkboard but would like something that I could use to record scores from multiple formats (consoles, arcade, etc.). I searched the Google Play store for a scoreboard app but only found ones that replicate a player vs. player scoreboard. What I want is scores in a list under categories. If anyone knows of such an app or website, please let me know. Ideally, I'd like to have the app run on the Android tablet I use for my iCade. Thanks! Rudy #2 Posted July 15, 2014 I have the same problem you have. I think the best solution is to photograph the screen with the high score and pin it to an oakboard. When the score is superseded, replace with the updated picture. The photo provides instant veracity of the score.

Keep in mind some systems (like CV) go blank a few seconds after the game is over so be sure to take your picture quickly. I think this was to prevent tube damage from the same image being on the screen a long time. If you digitize your pictures you can even post them online. Cynicaster #4 Posted July 15, 2014 I think the problem with coming up with a serviceable “high score app” is that there are too many conceivable design variables, and anything that anybody comes up with is bound to fall short for those who wish it would do this or wish it would do that. It might seem almost archaic in this day and age, but your best bet might be something like Excel. At least there, you can customize it to do whatever you want, and program it so that it can automate stuff for you, summarize results, do graphs, etc. I made a spreadsheet for game tournaments that does this sort of thing. It’s really handy because I can run Excel on my Surface tablet and just walk around with it, entering scores as they pop up.
