What is your 8-bit Daily Driver?

I like my 1200xl double set-up. Machines are equiped with vbxe and are pal-converted. The one connected to lcd has also U1MB, stereo and side2 - it is being used mainly for demos and productivity software, VBXE version of Last Word looks just amazing. The other machine, connected to CRT Atari SC1435 monitor, is used for gaming only. I love to play games on a real crt with scanlines etc. Both machines were moded by Flashjazzcat - thanks Jon!

The machines are incredibly clean and meticulously arranged. The furniture is striking, with a modern design and minimalist color palette. The whole scene looks like a marketing brochure. It's easy to imagine the kind of inspiration you must get from such a beautifully appointed workspace.

My daily driver is a 130XE w/ IDEPlus2 and the 48K 800 sees a lot of use as well. I have others though.... a 400, a 600XL and an 800XL.

Got 15 A8s but only the 800XL is on a desk connected to an LCD and an SIO2PC. It's the very XL I bought in 1984 to develop the Quarter-Meg Atari for BYTE.

Main machine is an NTSC 130XE with 320k Peterson upgrade. Also has Best KB upgrade, covox, 32-in-1 OS. My other machines that get regular use are a PAL 130XE with Ultimate 1MB, SimpleStereo2 with IO Board, waiting for a VBXE2, and an Incognitoed 800.

This is my C64/A8 work/game center. These are the actual CPU's I use for 90% of my vintage computer needs. A C64C with Vic-20 keyboard and 1571 drive + Sd2IEC unit; and my 64k modded 600xl with MyIDE II cart and 1050 drive on an old CRT with a cable select switch for video.

My original 48K 800 with a Newell FASTCHIP and an Omnimon OS mod is SEMI-retired.

 

My work/play machine is an Incognito 800 chroma/luma attached to my original early 80's Amdek Color 300 monitor -- crisp and beautiful to this very day.

 

The Incog 800 is also attached to a Happy 1050, an 850 interface, a Hayes Optima 2400 and a SIO2USB interface from Germany.
