7800 XM update

Didn't someone a couple years back indicate they were working on - or maybe WANTED to work on - a rewrite of Dig Dug to add the music via the XM Yamaha synth chip? Did I imagine this?

Maybe you dreamed it?

Aha! So I didn't make this up out of my solder-addled brain. :D

Come on, Perry! Get that DK-addiction out of your system and show Dig Dug some love. I'm in for a cart if the XM ever makes it to non-preorder status.

The Dig Dug project will use the yamaha sound chip and to be honest, I didn't want to put much time into it until I knew the XM would get released. Now I'm hot and heavy into D2K so it will have to wait a bit.

Just knowing it's still in the back of your mind does my little black heart good, it does. If I won the lottery and could buy a bunch of arcade cabs, Dig Dug would be one of the first two or three I bought, maybe first depending on my mood. :)

Cool. That's good to know. Is there info on how they work posted somewhere?

Totally scrolled past this post in January.

They can really work however one wants, total address selection is 512K ROM and 16K RAM window. I think you can only do 256K + 2 banks of 16K RAM, been a long time since I made them.
