Prototype labels scan

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a place on the net that had a hi res. scan of any of the prototypes labels ?

Any assistance is appreciated,

OG.

I could scan a few of mine if the ones on my page aren't clear enough (http://www.atariprotos.com).

That would be great! I need it scanned at 300 DPI if you could.

Whatcha need 'em for?

I would like to create my own proto label for my current project.

Also, did Atari used the same label for the 2600 and the 5200 ? This is the impression I got looking at your web site.

Thanks,

OG.

Is your project a homebrew or reproduction for resale? If so, you're better off not confusing people by putting a prototype tag on it.

1. It is a homebrew project.

2. It will not be sold with this label anyway.

Okay now, you can't just come on here talking about a new 5200 homebrew and not give us a little idea of what it is about! When are you planning on revealing your game?

As soon as I find a hi res. label scan, make a label out of it and take a picture...

Hmm, why don't you design your own Prototype label ? Even the Atari labels can be reproduced with Photoshop, it's just text and a few lines as well as the logo. :ponder:

I for one wouldn't make a high-res scan of a lab-loaner label because I got ripped off with a fake before.

Same here, that's why I was asking.

Cool, another 5200 Homebrew...you definitely will have an interest.

This is my plan. I wanted to use that as a template (text size and position) for my own very similar design. I can assure you that I'll not be using Atari's logo. There will not be a room for confusion here. I promise.

Tempest,

Since this issue seems to be of concern, please ignore my request for hi res scan. I'll come up with something myself. :)

In the 5200 Archives of this site, there is collection of Atari cart and box fonts available for download that may be helpful to you:

You guys are getting all worked up over nothing. I know Ronen personally and he's not making fake prototype carts. I know we're all jittery after a few fake protos showed up on ebay (a very small amount compared to all the real protos out there), but you can't automatically assume someone is up to no good. Unfortunetly it seems a few bad people out ther have ruined this hobby for every one, and now we're all looking at each other with suspicion over the smallest things.

Some days I wonder why I'm still doing this.

Well, first of all, I wasn't accusing him of wanting to do so and second I didn't know that this person is Ronen, I was simply stating that I wouldn't want to make a high-res scan availabe for public consumption.

It's all good. ;)

I wasn't assuming he was up to no good. I was just curious about the possibility of a new Homebrew.

I also know Ronen from NAVA meetings in NJ. What ever he is working on

I'm sure will be super cool. I can't wait to hear what it is.

Don't worry about the labels, he knows what he is doing. Don't bring a

great homebrew author down. :-)
