What is your favorite video game console of all time?

The Jaguar is definitely up there within my top 10 favorite consoles of all time, but the PAL version of it sucks so bad - hard to believe it's even on this list!

 

What's the story with the PAL version again? It ran at 50hz instead of 60hz, which messed with the picture somehow? At least all carts are region free so Europeans can grab an NTSC console if they want to. Green LED is kind of cool at least.

Five consoles is too little for me, I need at least 10 spots, maybe 15 to be realistic. hah.

 

My first five would be something along the lines of (in no particular order):

 

Sega Genesis/CD/32X combo (cheating, I know)

Super NES

NES

Dreamcast

PS2 (cheating again, since it doubles as a PS1)

 

If I could go to ten, the other five would be (in no particular order):

 

Saturn

Jaguar

PC Engine/CD/DUO

Neo-Geo (AES or CD)

XBOX or XBOX 360, not sure which one I'd pick; Wii, Game Cube, Nintendo 64 would be somewhere on the same level for me.

 

Anyway.. Yeah. There are way too many good systems out there to narrow it down to five for me.

1. Japanese Saturn (US/EU games library is a mediocre subset)

2. Neo Geo (consolized MVS?)

3. Dreamcast

4. Gamecube

5. Vectrex

 

Jaguar wouldn't even make my top 10. The unique library of games and nostalgia of Atari's history make me a fan of the system but there are so few quality games that it doesn't rank among my favorite consoles.

I'm glad that someone enjoyed my little joke! A pretty lukewarm reception at first lol.... The poll was meant to be a bit of fun and then the discussion thread a place where Jaguar gamers could discuss their other all time favorites.

 

Happy to see Gamecube on so many people lists. One of my all time favorites
