Game Gear to Sega Master System conversions

For those with an Everdrive...

 

The first person to convert Sega Game Gear roms over to Sega Master System format was Chris Covell. He did like a half dozen games, nearly 10 years ago. Conversion involves a number of things, particularly remapping of buttons, and palettes.

After so, so long, earlier this year business picked up big time! The SMS-power forum has been the hub of it. A few different people have been converting a number of Game Gear games. Some are still WIP. Most of them are done like Chris, where the Start button is mapped to SMS button 1. However, some have Start mapped to down on D-pad on controller 2. They also involved resizing of the game's resolution to fill the SMS resolution. Which is very nice.

The roms are not on the site, only patch files so you have to do that part yourself.

Anyone else know of any other Game Gear exclusives that were good? A big chunk of the Game Gear library was already available on the Master System, but I know there were also quite a few games that weren't available either.

I think about 75% of GG games were not on SMS. Mega Man is still an early build, so it's got a lot of glitches. Several of the conversions may have glitches still. I tried Captain America for instance, and scrolling causes a lot of glitching.

This is great stuff... but such a hassle to patch individually. Great additions to one's Everdrive library, though. Plenty of good games, though most were Genesis (even 32X!) down-ports, they're still good.

A friend of mine converted a GG Aleste 2 for me a while back. Definately bolsters the ol' SMS library.

For most of them, the Start button is mapped to Player 2 down.

I think this is very fantastic but is there some obstacle to serving patched ROMs?  It seems much more efficient unless I'm missing something and I'd be happy to host.
