Stephen g #1 Posted August 4, 2014 Hi guys, out of interest and for those in the uk who use the XRGB MINI.. Where did you purchase your RGB scart leads from... I know from personal experience those so called RGB leads of EBay can be flaky at best and a couple Iv tried didn't even work with the mini at all.. Iv got a modded RGB scart lead I did myself, looks a bit naff to be honest and really want a lead that looks the part but want one I know works with the mini. Any advice is most welcome,
Zerosquare #2 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) The best RGB cables are the official ones that look like this: Although they don't appear to be listed on their websites, those resellers may have them: http://www.myatari.com/ http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/ http://www.1632systems.co.uk/ Check which kind of RGB input your XRGB Mini accepts. If it is Japanese 21-pin connector, you'll need an European-to-Japanase SCART adapter too; plugging the SCART lead directly won't work correctly. Austin #3 Posted August 4, 2014 FYI, to anyone that may have dupes of these, I am looking for a set of these cables. Would love to use it with an upscaler to get higher quality captured video footage.

The DIN-SCART adapter provided with the XRGB mini is JP21.

XRGB-minis ship with a JP21 adapter, doesn't support euro SCART without a different adapter.
+remowilliams #6 Posted August 4, 2014 XRGB-minis ship with a JP21 adapter, doesn't support euro SCART without a different adapter. Or a quick rewiring, which is what I did
+madman #7 Posted August 4, 2014 Or that! I've only used mine with svideo cables so far, so I couldn't remember if that connector was easy to pop open and rewire.
Stephen g #8 Posted August 4, 2014 Iv got a euro adapter, but the mini is very selective in seeing a true RGB signal.....iv modded my own after purchasing a couple from eBay with no luck... A quick solder here and move a couple of wires around and it works.. But like I've said it looks terrible and a bit of a botch job...so I'm looking for anyone who's got a mini to advice what scart lead they've purchased and from where ... mickcris #9 Posted August 5, 2014 Do you have any other consoles working with the mini to make sure your euro adapter is ok? I think Best Electronics will ship to the UK. Shipping may be a bit pricey, but the official cable definitely works.

sh3-rg #11 Posted August 11, 2014 I originally used the official Jaguar SCART cable into an adapter I bought from the states into the JP21 cable that comes with the mini. That was somewhat iffy, unsurprisingly, with so much in line there were often missing R, G or B signals or audio. Now I use the official Jaguar SCART cable and Retro Gaming Cables SCART to Framemeister cable (that only costs £6 delivered).Works perfectly and my iffy connection woes are gone - so no more cable wiggling! All my Jaguar videos since over a year now have been made using the mini into an Elgato GCHD, thanks to kgenthe's post explaining what his setup was I just went out and grabbed my own. I made the ML demo video using this setup the other day.
Stephen g #12 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi, sh3-rg. Iv got it sorted now, I tried the adapter that can with the mini (I resolded to suit euro), problem tho I was getting jail bars on blue background in games. So I reverted back to the one with the sync cleaner in, resolded my scart lead so there was power goin to pin 8 and it now works fantastically... Took a lot of advise from a few guys about the wiring of the scart block but got there in the end...I believe the 330ohm resistors between pins 8/16 i'm using are actually higher than that, but that's another story. I now have a home made scart lead only for the mini and Jaguar (won't work on tv in rgb as iv not connected pin 16) and it works perfectly fine with the mini..I could of used 5B on the jagaur connector end so I didn't need the sync stripper, but seeing iv got it working, I couldn't be bothered to resoldering it as it's working fine now. I'm pretty cuffed that I finally got it sorted and only cost me 4 quid for the bits 😜 to make the rgb scart lead...
Zerosquare #13 Posted August 16, 2014 For those who are looking for the official RGB SCART cables, Telegames sells them for £35 (which is about €44 or $58): http://www.telegames.co.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=324_69_70&product_id=8534 They also have a cheaper "ribbon" one (but this one is crap, don't buy it), and a combo SCART + stereo audio version that's not official AFAIK (I wouldn't buy it either).
