Nba jam TE graphic issues edge of screen ?

Recommended Posts

Iv recently got a copy of NBA JAM TE for the jag.

But iv noticed on the side of the screens there appears to be a graphics glitch... It's like black zig zaggy blocks goin up the screen right on the edge ?

I assume this is a game specific issue as iv noticed on a few you tube videos this is also happens, only way to stop it is let TV overscan the image.

As anyone else noticed this, or is this game faulty, it's rather off putting really.

Regards

I can't say it is something I have noticed but then I have only used my Jag on a 14 inch non HD, non Widescreen monitor & TV so it may be an issue specific to your TV. Perhaps if you were to provide the make and model there maybe someone here using the same one who can say if they are having the same problems.

If you're using your xrgb mini to obtain the picture, try just using the SCART itself and seeing how much you see. The min lets you see all kinds of junk the TV maybe won't. I know CJ had a monitor that showed him way more than a standard TV set would and as a result he used to (still does?) support extra wideness most people never see :P

Yeah I believe the mini is showing the whole image, when connected via scart it overscans so no graphic issues... Thanks for your input, think I'll put up with the image this way as the mini gives a fantastic sharp image ...

Just got NBA Jam TE in the mail YESTERDAY. Haven't popped it in yet but will report back when I do. I'm wondering how it compares to the Saturn Version as I've played that one quite a bit..

In the Saturn and PSX versions most everything is bigger and more exaggerated. Both the Jaguar and 32x versions are closer to the arcade than them two version.

Had no issues with NBA jam TE last night. Composite cable on a 55" Samsung LCD TV.

Ok thanks, but why are you using composite on the LCD tv ? .... RGB scart murders that ...Make one yourself it's pretty easy, be warned tho, use a 150ohm resistor between pins 8/16 not as the guide everyone uses which shows 350ohm... It'll save you a whole lot of pain trying to make it work.

Regarding NBA it's a strange one..

I have an S-Video cable on order right now and when I get the cash am going to order an XGRB Mini. I don't mess with SCART because nothing in the US uses it or is compatible (as far as I know).

Never understood why the US don't have scart ? S video is good, but RGB scart is where it's @ .

When you do get a mini you'll be blown away once set up correctly..

Even S video is a dead format at this point in the US. The US equivalent of Scart is Component cables, but I agree that it makes sense to just combine them into one input. Everything is HDMI now..

Its tough because most old game consoles are easily modded to have an S-Video out, but no TV's have S-Video inputs anymore...Which means you need an old TV or a converter...Pain in the ass. lol

I bought my TV in 2009 I think and it has S-Video, luckily one of which is on the side so it's perfect for hooking up consoles without having to get behind the TV. I need to get my RGB cable situation taken care of so I can use the xrgb mini exclusively with RGB for the best quality.

Make you own, it's very simple as long as you take care soldering... Grounding iv found is the key and if your only ever goin to use it with the mini, you won't need pins 8/16 soldered on scart plug..😜

Iv made one with pin 16 connected so I can use on my LCD upstairs when I can't get on main tv..

Honestly I'm enjoying playing my jag more than my xbox one or ps4... Just been defender 2000... Personally I think it's amazing, and it looks the mutts nutts with the xrgb..
