Atari Forum problems

Hi All,

 

Those of you who frequent atari-forum.com will have noticed some performance issues recently and likely had 500/508 errors.

 

A ticket was raised for this last weekend and it was escalated on Wednesday. The latest news is Tech support at the hosting company reckons the site is using too much SQL resource. I have temporarily disabled forum access and I am still getting error 500's. I've fed this back to them and not had a response yet. I'm convinced the node we are on has become over utilised - I'll keep the site disabled for the time being until I have heard back from them. At least I took the opportunity to update the Tapatalk plugin so not all bad!

Hey Darren. Sorry to hear about all the troubles. Hope you get them resolved soon. Along

with Atari Age, Atari Forum is my main "go to!" Atari resource.

Even that short Information page loads very slowly. Something is very bad at host. And it's weekend, so hardly will fix it before Monday

The posting lock is off but I almost immediately got the SQL errors etc again. SOmething is still not right....

I can't see Atari Forum going under. It's too popular. Lemon Amiga gets about three posts a day (if that) and it's still around.

Just now I was able to read the forums but very slow. At least it didn't error out.

Now the message from the website is that "Atari Forum is currently down whilst we move home... Be back as soon as possible"

So I guess Dal is changing hosting providers.

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I guess Dal might be working on fixing the wiki issues ?

Man, I'm still having problems. The last 3 mornings I've come home from work

I've tried to access Atari Forum. I can get there, logon, and just as soon as I

try to access any message thread, it hangs there.

 

Anyone have any news about what's going on? When Dal first switched

and moved a couple of weeks ago, it was rocket-ship fast for a while...

I usually access it through Tap a Talk on my phone, and have been seeing lots of hangs where I can see the topic but can't load the posts.

Is it down again or is it just me? I haven't been able to access it all day, yet I got an email saying I got a message on Atari-forum. Which is why I'm asking if it's just me.....

atari-forum.com is no longer accessible for me, unless I use a proxy. For some reason, it seems that my IP is blocked. I can access the site from work without problem, though. This is really a pain, since I now have to enable a proxy to access atari-forum, and then disable it because I haven't yet found a proxy that works reliably on all sites.
