Different colored lettering for "text"/foil label

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I was wondering about something. Typically, the "text" labled 2600 games (with the foil label) was standard for the game. For example, the air-sea battle had red lettering, and then eventually changed into the more familiar "picture" label.

My question is this: Assuming this information is correct, how common is it to find a foil label/"text" label with different colored lettering.

For example, in the rarity guide, the flag capture "text" version has red lettering. However, the copy that I have has green lettering.

Is this common or do I have something different here?

Hoping you could help me out on this one.

Thanks,

Steve

There are a lot of minor variations in cartridge labels. I've never seen a variant that wasn't covered here.

Specific to your question: There are a number of text label color variants. Green versus yellow football is an obvious one that comes to mind. Golf has green and yellow text labels as well, I think.

Other label variants are subtle, often involving only minor discrepancies in font size or text position on a label.

The question is, which label variants, if any, does one collect? Personally, I don't actively collect label variants, but if I happen to get one of the more obvious variants, like a color variant mentioned above, I keep it.

Hope this helps.
