Omnimon with cold start?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen a version of Omnimon XL that has built-in cold start "magic keys?"

Clearly there are a couple ways around this, including setting $0244 to non-zero then hitting reset, but just curious.

I have OmnimonXL. Never heard of 'magic keys'. If you want a cold start, why not just 'J'ump $E477 from Omnimon or RUN $E477 from DOS?

From BASIC, if you POKE 580,any number but 0 will cause cold start on RESET, I think.

Just checked in A8WP4, POKE 580,2 doesn't cause cold start on RESET.

I remember reading something about this , THE person writing about the fix said he put the magic keys into the David Young signature title and apologized to David Young for doing it this way. I will try to dig up the info and post it if and when I find it..

Thanks, Roy. I hope you do find it. I *suspect* you may be thinking about Omniview. The guy who made the patch was in our users' group and it was posted on Compuserve.

But I hope you can surprise me!

Good to hear from you!

On XL OS if the Self-Test is still there, BYE (or some cases B. ) from Basic or language cart goes to the menu, press Reset for coldstart.
