I got a good laugh at it though, creepy as it may be.

Risible indeed, although my wife was less than amused to see her name there (obtained via Facebook stalking, BTW: Mr Adamcick is now blocked). ;)

Omg just saw that AtariAge Loser's page....whew! scary how some people see the world. I got a good laugh at it though, creepy as it may be.

Has the lawsuit counter reached -14 days yet? I keep waiting for my summons to appear.

That guy is a serious D-bag bringing your wife into it.

Be carefull though. With all the thousands of copies of Centron 3D he is selling, he's going to have some serious cash to pay for his deformation suite.

The way of the screen reminds me a little bit Centron 3D...

A very casual similarity. But, the difference is this works. The perspective is understandable. The player and other moving objects make sense. The play action even looks fun.

It says 1 day today, if that's worth anything.

Would a summons include a free trip to Australia? Sounds like fun. Anyone on the list want to take me along as a character witness? :-) I did not make the list. I guess I was not trying hard enough.

What I don't understand is the deformation lawyers' definition: [Deformation] "occurs where one person communicates, by words, photographs, video, illustrations or other means, material which has the effect or tendency of damaging the reputation of another.” But, what if most of those words, photographs, video, or illustrations damaging the person's reputation were actually communicated by the plaintiff alleging deformation? Self incrimination?

LOL It's said 1 day for like weeks now. The proper term is "defamation" I believe. Either way, I don't care.

Dude, I begged him for a subpoena and a free trip to Australia. I was planning on hanging out with Crocodile Dundee, telling an Aussie judge to go f**k himself and everything. I'm more than a little heartbroken personally. I think I should be able to counter-sue for emotional anguish now that he's stripped me of my lifelong dream.

That guy is such a worthless douche nozzle. He even tried to threaten me with cyber-bullying laws after he got my attention and bit off more than he can chew. LOL

What does the game above have to do with the Atari 8-bit anyway?

Yes it is. But in his original posts he said, "deformation", more than once IIRC. Several here who remember that have tried to keep that theme going.

Actuallly, red letters after slight modification can make RPC. I think Pete was inspired by this.

There are lessons to be learned from the Centron-3D RPC games fiasco - especially for someone/people working on their first such project.

You should not overhype the game - unless it truly delivers - or it'll be like the politicians here (this is election night) - in which case they can never deliver what they promise.

And if you invite peoples' comments etc - you need a thick skin.

Though it was not good/sociable to shoot him down so hard and fast... in that he/they may produce something better in future? If they bother to learn from what they experienced.

Rarely - anyone's first project turns out to be something wonderful - anyway - unless you truly have that rare talent of being a natural at this sort of thing....

We were absolutely one hundred per cent justified in taking the incredulous attitude we did - surely that much is obvious now in light of his ludicrous and menacing reactions to criticism? He has not learned anything from his experience, since he can only maintain affable relationships with sycophants. Or rather, he learned one thing: never to attempt to write software for the A8 again, and for that mercy we should kiss the ground.

Lesson - don't come here acting with such contempt as to think you're the only person in the world actively developing software.

About this we disagree. There is nothing that justifies the idiot behavior of some people here on AtariAge. Read it again, and you must see some contributions of certain members, where you will think, yes... that crosses a line.

I agree with you that the apology page, and that he even named your wife on his site and all that was beyond acceptable behavior of his side. And I also think that when RPC blames AtariAge members for immoral behavior he should not act the same to make his point.

But although I was one of the first ones that was very skeptical about his contribution, I really think it was not just RPC Games that went completely out of control. I really missed a decent moderation in the different topics (far too late when everything was already on fire). And some people were really really rude to him, without any good reason.

I have seen contributions of members here, against RPC games that really were far beyond respectful behavior; and indeed he made some very strange moves that I would not have make, but still...

I really hope this whole thing will never happen again here on AtariAge.

I also hope that Pete will remove that apology page soon.

After the whole thing I have had an e-mail conversation with him, and I find him really a nice guy. I do not agree with him about some things, and indeed I hate that apology page.

But I also find other people here nice people. I really appreciate you FJC, and I must say that I really enjoyed the cartoon you created. I thought: yes, that is a hilarious way of discussing the issue Centron 3D. Unfortunately Pete couldn't laugh about it (I really expected him to find it funny, but I was wrong).

Anyway, I think this whole story doesn't know any winner at all.

Just remember, when Pete/Steve/etc... developed the Amiga game in record time in AMOS, he uploaded video after video of his progress to keep everyone interested. When he claimed to be making all kinds of progress on the A8 version, he refused to show anyone anything except some simple proof-of-concept videos and even then he tried to disguise the fact that they used a flicker mode. He was evasive and deceptive from the start and people began to catch on.

Sure, some people began to get a bit snarky with him, but if he had actually written anything he would have shut that all down pretty quickly. A fast game with big soft-sprites on the A8 turned out to be a little more than he could handle and he decided to keep up the charade anyway.
