Army Of 2600
...the title screen comes on fine, but I can't get the game to officially start playing. I tried all the switches, but no luck. is there a secret to getting this to work, or is my cartridge just messed up?
BigO
I had to ask the same question when I first got it. I thought my cartridge was bad. Move the paddle controllers to the other port. Strange, but true. Edited September 30, 2014 by BigO
Army Of 2600
I actually tried that, but did not get a response. Is that the trick?
BigO
That's the trick that worked for me. I assume you tried both controllers. If I remember correctly, hitting reset (to confirm game selection) then pressing the fire button starts up the action. [Edit]: no need to hit reset, just press the fire button to start the game. +save2600
Makes you wish they would have included that tidbit right on the label. They had the gee-whiz to include: 'Use With Game Paddles'... but could have finished up with: 'In Right Port'. I've always thought Atari should have made Port #2 the standard for paddles - so you didn't have to be constantly plugging and re-plugging controllers in.

Though it's with the joystick, Towering Inferno does the same thing.
