Army Of 2600
Talks are underway for a possible rerelease of 'Return of the Bloop Beep Buzz' by Army Of 2600. The first run featured the robot from Berzerk on the limited edition T shirt along with a full length cd consisting of songs using the Atari Synthcart and various 2600 game sounds that sold exclusively on the AtariAge site. What shirt design ideas do you have that speak for the Atari 2600? The joystick? A space invader? Stacked cartridges?
PFL
I suppose an obvious image would be of Yar. It's pretty iconic for the 2600. I, personally, like Pacman (it's history and notoriety can't be denied!). The little guy made of squares screams 2600 to me. The 2600 Space Invaders are also pretty cool. I see lots of desktop wallpapers or Deviant Art pictures with the word Atari on them but showing the Taito arcade Space Invaders... that drives me mental!

+Nathan Strum
The joystick. Instantly recognizable, forever iconic.
Crazy Climber
Since I assume this is kind of a release "for the fans" being its exclusive atariage and all you could go a little bold with a not so popular atari image. Just my two cents. Yars is a good one, well known to us but the average joe would scratch their head and shrug
Cobra Commander
Like Climber sez, something a little more niche to community. On screen imagery is always great, like the tank or Yar sprites. Missle Command mushroom clouds are also great.
Lentzquest
As far as Yars goes, I really love the imagery of the distortion stripe running down the screen. Somehow capturing that would make a really great shirt or album cover. Maybe something like this except by an actual skilled artist and with in-game Yars Revenge font style:
PFL
^ Nice. I kinda like the idea of the strip being a little wider and running down a shirt. Not down the centre of the shirt but off to the side. A sillouette of Yar being 'cut' out of it around the breast area would be pretty cool with your Army of 2600 logo printed on the back... Just my little brainstorm.
Army Of 2600
You guys are coming up with some great ideas. I think something under the mainstream radar is the way to go and I am really liking the Yars image ideas. Thanks for all of your help. Torr
I never before noticed that the Qotile looks VERY similar to the Atari Fuji! Was that intentional I wonder?
Army Of 2600
I noticed that as well. Interesting. Also, the artwork above was originally from Lentzquest.
retrorussell
Now we need a sister thread on iconic SOUNDS you associate with the 2600. I keep hearing Mario from DK jumping and Pac-Man dying.
