Not yet. Work continues on HOKEY, but this will not be ready before the first runs of Concerto.

I do have a prototype Concerto with an onboard HOKEY, so down the road, yes, this will be a possibility.

Would all Concerto/Concertino PCB's be upgradeable with the HOKEY once that's working?

This is awhile coming and I supported it from day one. I am happy to see they will be cranked out soon. I also recommend Batari's product.

A very resonable price point you can not go wrong.

Funny someone said they need to wait for another guy to make one? Thats almost ignorant to state on this thread.. Lol whatever man. Batari will sell so many it will not matter for the one customer that is too good for him. How is that for ignorant?

Go to someone's homebrew game development thread and state you will wait for someone else to port your game. Is that rude? Fn slimeball.

Also Hokey coming out will make the expensive pokey alternatives a thing of the past.

Legend..

And there isn't just 2 people making such device right now, there is at least a 3rd person working on one as well. They will all have a different flavor and price point to them. This thread was about SD carts not Fred's specifically so I don't think it was rude of the other fella to mention something different than the Concerto. If he did that in the Concerto thread that would be foul play for sure. There is room for all and competition breeds a healthy market. None of these will be around forever so if anyone is concerned about the future, perhaps they should buy more than one :)  Game on to everyone

This is exactly why I own a Harmony Encore and an UnoCart.

As for the 7800, I have a Mateos but can’t wait for one or all of these SD options to become available.

Your choice to hold out, but if you want to buy both, I can at least say that Concerto's pricing will be very reasonable. Concerto will debut at $99, and Concertino will be $59.

Thank you, I have SainT's Jag, Lynx and NGPC devices... and I'm happy with them and know them. He's in the UK with me too so delivery is usually spot on. I haven't been following and only know the Concerto name. I wouldn't want two solutions. But thanks for the recommendation.

I'm in the UK and have had items from @batari delivered with zero problem. Great devices.

I'll be quite happy to buy which ever device is available first that fits my need, as I desperately need one for development purposes.

I hope that all different solutions (Concerto & 7800GD) will have the same memory and support the same mappers (maybe new ones?).

It's unlikely the support will be the same. As far as I know, each of the upcoming flashcarts uses a different hardware approach. I think the others are FPGA/CPLD solutions, and Concerto is a mix of microcontroller and conventional hardware. Because of the different approach of each, they may each have mappers that the others do not support.

@batari

I wasn’t sure from the previous message. Is the volunteer recall going on or to be announced in the future?

thanks,

charles

It will be, but I suppose you could get started now, as it won't be long until the current programmable logic is validated, at which point I can start working on existing carts in my possession.

As always my aim is to support everything required for retail, including POKEY in CPLD solution. As it will be CPLD / micro based, I would be able to support new mappers.

Things like the bupchip are a possibility also.

But as ever, I have a million things on the go, so grab what you can while you can.

This is all very exciting.

Also, there is talk of implementing the Yamaha sound chip on the HOKEY hardware so potentially, you could get a two-for-one deal. This is just at the discussion phase at this point but someday, maybe.

Looking forward to testing mine soon!

Do you have a list I could get on for the 7800GD? Or are you not ready for that yet?

Its just sometimes hard to follow long forums when I have my own projects going on.

Because people will ask, I should clarify that the $99 price includes free shipping in the USA. In Canada, add $8, elsewhere add $12.

I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!!!  ?

Thank you for making this a reality.

When can I PM my address and e-mail, as well as.... do/will you take PayPal???

I am running out of options as far as picking up a near-mint (but still pre-owned) 7800 ProSystem I was eyeing up on eBay got sold before I had the $$$.

I am eyeing up one more right now but I have no way to get 40 miles to Silverdale, WA to get a payday loan so I can beat the crowd to it, as my 2002 New Beetle isn't running and I hope I can get a grant through UFCW 21 as I work at Safeway here in Port Townsend, to get it fixed so I would probably have to wait again until after my Hulu bill gets debited and then just eat an overdraft fee just to "beat the crowd" so I can have it for the 7800 Edition (and the 8-bit Edition too) of The Atari Report I will be launching in January after Concerto gets released.
