Build my own Data Cassette Cable for my TRS-80.

Hi! So I recently picked up a "CoCo" and a tape cassette drive for it! Only problem is the drive has no cable! :( Would it be possible for me to just take 5 wires, strip both ends on them and insert the wires in the same holes on both the CoCo and the drive? I hope this makes sense, I did something similar to make a AV cable for my Genesis model 1. Do you think it will work? Will it screw up my CoCo? Thanks!

I have no idea how easy it would be to find one, but the very same cable was used on the TRS-80 Model I/III/IV.

Two of the tape deck connectors are standard 1/8" plugs, but one was much smaller -- 1/16"? It could conceivably work with just the audio in and out lines, but you would have to manually start and stop the tape deck.
