Andre81 #3 Posted October 29, 2014 Oh, did he buy it back? I'll give you $20. I forgot to bid Did he sell it? The eBay seller is a scammer and put a $55 shill bid on it.
Andre81 #4 Posted October 29, 2014 The copy on eBay is the one from Certifiable. So we have a shill bidder here on the forum. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/225609-need-intellivision-inc-games-have-sealed-sea-battle-to-trade/

JasonlikesINTV #7 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) am i the only one that has no idea what is going on? Intellivision Inc Sea Battle (sealed) sold today for only $10.50. I meant to bid around $20, but got stuck at work. Apparently no one else bid much either. Buyer had very low feedback score. It looks very similar to the one Certifiable picked up recently. Andre suspects shill bidding. Edited October 29, 2014 by JasonlikesINTV
Andre81 #8 Posted October 29, 2014 It looks very similar to the one Certifiable picked up recently. Andre suspects shill bidding. a) It doesn't look similar, it is the same. b) It didn't sell for $10.50, seller put a $55 shill bid on it
pimpmaul69 #9 Posted October 29, 2014 a) It doesn't look similar, it is the same. b) It didn't sell for $10.50, seller put a $55 shill bid on it ebay shows it selling for $10.
Rev #10 Posted October 29, 2014 so, just because a very low feedback buyer purchased it, that automaticly means certifiable bid on it himself? i have been doing ebay since late 90's. ive had all kinds of zero or low feedback bidders. now unless someone is remembering the ***** hidden names ebay does. man, anyway, couldnt this of been handled via pm?
Rev #11 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) where does it being the same game make it shill bidding, im lost on that one. also shows sold for 10.50 for me. but i see a retracted bid. ive seen retracted bids all the time. just recently, i sold a rainbow polaroid camera........somehow 2 morons both entered like 1,000 dollar bids, and it sold, but the bidder backed out. im sure it looked to some people that i shill bid on it......i had about 5 people message me about it asking why it sold for so much. what im saying, before you 'name and shame' someone, how about contacting and confronting them in private, before trashing their name. you got alot of balls andre. Andre81 #12 Posted October 29, 2014 so, just because a very low feedback buyer purchased it, that automaticly means certifiable bid on it himself? Yeah, right, 30 minutes before the auction ends Jonny Mc. Newbie shows up and bids $55 on an item that only hardcore Intellivision collectors care about. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=141447571239&aid=a***m&eu=&bidtid=1038743978004&view=BUYER&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_Buyer_ViewLink Johnny Mc. Scammer had the jitters. man, anyway, couldnt this of been handled via pm? No. "Shill Bidding is also illegal in many places throughout the world, with severe penalties." IntellivisionDude #13 Posted October 29, 2014 I see there was a bid retraction of $100 as well. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=141447571239&showauto=true
Rev #14 Posted October 29, 2014 this exact thing has happenned to me over the years.......maybe some other long time ebay guys can chime in. there simply is no evidence of shilling. plus why am i wasting my time in here? i am trying to work on a secret project. blah

Rev #16 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) LOL, even it WAS shill bidding, no one made out like a bandit on this auction...... Isnt the point of shill bidding to DRIVE UP THE PRICE? Not let it sell at 10 bucks....... nothing to see here, move along. Edited October 29, 2014 by revolutionika
Andre81 #17 Posted October 29, 2014 Isnt the point of shill bidding to DRIVE UP THE PRICE? Not let it sell at 10 bucks....... The seller wanted to ensure that it doesn't sell for less than $55. It didn't sell.
Rev #18 Posted October 29, 2014 haha, that game is not even worth 10 bucks.
Andre81 #19 Posted October 29, 2014 haha, that game is not even worth 10 bucks. But you really want to tell us that a noob who didn't bid on anything else in the last 30 days shows up and bids $55 on it when the auction is at just $2.25? On a variation that only hardcore Intellivision collectors care about? Or isn't it more plausible that the seller thought he has a super rare variation and will get a ton of bids and money and when that didn't worked out bid on his own item? Rev #20 Posted October 29, 2014 I really want to tell you that you only have theories and circumstantial evidence at best. I bet you still havent even PM or ebay messsage certifiable, have you?
Andre81 #21 Posted October 29, 2014 I really want to tell you that you only have theories and circumstantial evidence at best. Of course, and I don't expect the seller to admit it. So we have a happy buyer and the game WON'T SHOW UP ON EBAY OR ON THE FORUM AGAIN.

pimpmaul69 #23 Posted October 29, 2014 I have made the exact same mistake several times buying on ebay because i add 55 cents to every bid i bid on. I never ever use an exact dollar amount. I would have bid $2.55 or $3.55 at the time it was $2.25. I have had noobs eff up their bid so many times. I personally always showed them how to retract their bid. I have sold plenty of items to newbs that had no feedback.

pimpmaul69 #25 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Looking at the retracted bid of 100 dollars was done by the same person that bid ten dollars and has 440 feedbacks. It is as plain as day that it was a mistake made. I dont see the need to call someone out when this is so blatant that is was a mistake of typing one too many zeros. And with revs smiley face it was probably his dumbass! Edited October 29, 2014 by pimpmaul69
