Greetings fellow Gamers,

Hello--> I am Anthony, new to forum but def not to the world of gaming. When i was 12 years old-I got my very first colecovision, loved it and grew up with it, pretty much addicted to it and all of its games! haha besides the Atari 2600 which was my very first console, it was never as good or much fun as my coleco. Coleco always stood out in my mind, said one day-I will get another, well- 2014 here we are, got it yesterday!!! Def don't plan on losing this one. LOL It instantly, Brings me back to 1982 and my childhood. I found this forum and wanted to join fellow minded gamers like myself (ColecoVision fans). Anyhow, Just wanted to say hi, and get to learn everything about the console and try and preserve it as well as the games and the hobby.

Anthony

Hey, Thanks Guys, appreciate the welcome!!!! and thanks for the links as well. I was reading some of them, Is there a coleco PAC MAN version available now??? Did i miss something, I would be interested in that as well as some other titles that i had, but lost. As a kid, i had suitcases full of games. My mother threw them all out, Imagine??!?!?!?!?!? I look at auctions now and see all the games that i had in the heyday, when they were new titles LOL I could cry when i think about it.

Pacman Collecton is now a long time soldout game

Although, Opcode is going to re-release it in SGM format

Hi Anthony, nice to meet you. I'm in a similar boat as you, fairly recent to the scene and trying to catch up on all the *new* releases (saying that still blows my mind) for the ColecoVision. I'm still trying to get many of the 80's titles too!

There's been a lot of action on the homebrew front over the last several years but if some of the titles seem hard to grab, don't be discouraged. Some of the older homebrews do pop up from time to time and occasionally there are additional runs made. There's a lot out there and new ones coming out regularly. More than enough to keep us busy and broke :)

I hope to see you here often and welcome!

Jay

Welcome aboard Anthony.

If you have the time, definetely read through all the old posts in this forum to catch-up on all the happenings and to get the "lay of the land" around here.. it's like an encyclopedia of knowledge detailing the CV & ADAM. I spent the time reading through all the old threads when I first joined up and it really brought me up to par with all the happenings and who is who around here, but it was also a little despressing because I learned of all the great Homebrew products that were made and that I missed.

Without a doubt, pickup the AtariMax Ultimate SD MultiCart and then checkout all the "pinned" threads for some very important information that everyone needs to know... especially the tremendous clean rom archive made available by Ikrananka that can be copied to the AtariMax cart giving you instant access to all the legacy games. Quite a number of Homebrew games have been released freely in rom image format as well.

I feel bad for whoever bought that one. Only the yellow cart version of pacman is worth that much. There are a ton of the pacman black carts made.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!!! You are all AWESOME!!!! I am stoked to find an online community that caters to old school video games, especially my COLECO!!! Can you believe that Arnold C. GreenBerg is still alive in living in Hartford, CT. He is like 80 now... He was the founder and CEO of coleco. I was thinking about taking a ride upto CT to see the old coleco building. I reside in NYC, so its not that far. i heard they are still there... How cool!!!

Anyways, I am not familiar as to what OPCODE is???

and what is SGM format???

Can someone please chime in to get me unto speed with this terminology. Greatly appreciated!!!

Many Thanks, Have a great day all!

Anthony

Yes, VERY! Hell I've been waiting for months now on the 2nd release of the SGM'S to finally get mine and enjoy these games that require one. Fortunately I can play the pacman collection on my ADAM without the SGM. Great game.

Welcome aboard, friend. You'll find more information about OPCODE games here in this forum > http://atariage.com/forums/forum/117-opcode-games/

SGM stands for Super Game Module. Here's more info on that > http://opcodegames.com/
