kat5200 fullscreen?

No matter what I do kat5200 is not going into fullscreen. Or even 3x. Ticking the boxes or in the menu selecting full screen or 3x does nothing. It just stays in small windows when I load rom. Even hitting escape and reselecting fullscreen does nothing.

Make sure that the Specify Screen Box is unchecked then click OK

With these settings, I receive a full screen image under Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit and a Radeon HD 5670 card with a desktop/default display of 1920x1080:



The kat5200.log file shows the following details:

Also, just to confirm exactly what you're experiencing: Do you see kat5200 running in a window with a border around it and you can still see your Windows wallpaper/desktop, or do you see a black background with the emulator running in a smaller borderless window just not stretched to the full size of your screen?

 

If you cannot receive a full screen image no matter what you try, kat5200 may very well be utilizing a display method/technique that does not agree with your video card('s driver). It may be better to switch to a different 5200/8-bit emulator such as Altirra.

None of the settings stick. It wont even let me create a new profile in video. It says new and then stays default but does not show the new one. And altirra does not work.

Ok lets start with the basics...

 

What is your system specs...meaning Operating System..Video Card..how much System RAM

 

Next...try completely un installing kat5200 and reinstalling it.

 

Last some screenshots of your settings and what you see when kat5200 is running...(if you are running Windows..the prtscr key and then open paint and paste then save pic in png format then upload it to here)

 

Alot of work I know but it seems that your problem is deeper than an easy fix.

Samsung NP-RV515A01-US 8gb ram windows 8.1. Its not my video card because it goes full screen now. After I selected a zip file instead of a bin it works in full screen now and refuses to go back to normal. But after selecting the zip file "CPU Crashed. Enter Debugger?" message appears. Saying YES quits the program. Saying NO goes back to the menu. Reselecting a the same zip or any zip brings up the same error. Frogger is fine but frogger2 has garbled text on the startup screen with Atari logo. But both same error in the end however. So kat5200 doesn't like zips apparently. Anyhow selecting a different rom does no good. The settings don't stick. I'm stuck in full screen now.

 

But its better than that small windows so its good enough for now. Thanks.

I figured it out. Pressing F1 returns to normal screen. But few things.

 

You have to be in the game. On the menu it doesn't work. You have to be in the game.

 

And as soon as I hit F1 it says kat5200 not responding.

if kat5200 crashes when loading a rom or in the middle of the game then the rom is bad and you need to get another one...I have had no issues with the roms on this site...and for legal reasons I cannot link you to a rom site...but they are out there if you search for them.

the problem I had when I tried kat5200 was the controllers. first i couldn't figure out what the default keys to move and fire, and i couldn't seem to change them and have them work. i couldn't set up my joystick either. the documentation didn't assist me. oh well.
