What's it worth: Metaphor Workstation

I'm going to pick up a Metaphor Workstation from an estate sale next week. I'd never heard of them before, so did a little Googling, and now I'm intrigued enough to buy it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaphor_Computer_Systems

 

Problem is, there's not enough information online to give me any indication what it's worth.

 

Any suggestions on a fair offer? Or how "rare" a complete setup would be (or should I say RARE! [email protected]@K!)

To the right buyer I wouldn't doubt this is worth a small fortune!

 

Consider that the wife just spent $4,500 on 2 Digital VT100 terminals. Of course, they are NIB MIB CIB with many options and documentation and other accouterments - including such impedimenta like period stands. She gets into all this pre-80's mainframe stuff. The big iron.

 

So yeh take the time to hook up with the right buyer.

That's the question... what's the right price? I don't know yet if it's functional, and the seller is the owner's daughter-in-law, so she doesn't know much more than I do about it.
