Steve Mynott #1 Posted November 15, 2014 Is there a decent Breakout game which doesn't use paddles? I'm aware of Super Breakout which looks really good but only have joystick. Alternatively is there a hacked version to use joysticks? Or is it just a case of plugging a pot into the joystick ports as a "Poor Man's Paddle? gilsaluki #2 Posted November 15, 2014 PADDLES are readily available. Ebay has them all the time. Best and B&C. You can get brand new ones at AtGames which sells them for the Flashback units, but work for the 800/XL/XE, whatever. If you do get some old ones and they are jumpy, no problem there is a technique to clean them to almost as good as new or you can replace the Potentiometers. YouTube has the vids on how to do it using great Radio Shack 1 MegaOhm Pots, readily available locally. Or you can by Best's "Superpots" for about $6.50 each. Even Shopgoodwill.com has Paddle controllers for sale.
MrFish #3 Posted November 15, 2014 If you use the "Advanced Search" over at Atarimania, you can pull up games by "Genre". Breakout / Pong / Circus
Rastignac #4 Posted November 15, 2014 "Off the Wall" is decent, and use joystick.

MrFish #8 Posted November 19, 2014 http://atariage.com/forums/topic/191864-pad-15-beta/ I don't think it works with joysticks though.
jvas #9 Posted November 19, 2014 I don't think it works with joysticks though. No, but with a mouse. Doesn't it count?
MrFish #10 Posted November 19, 2014 No, but with a mouse. Doesn't it count? Sure it does. But as it often happens, the OP might not have stated so clearly in the topic title that his intentions, as suggested by his initial post, were most likely to find games that work with a joystick. Although I could be entirely wrong about that.
