+Ripdubski #1 Posted November 17, 2014 This is a one time cross post to raise awareness of my podcast. The formal thread was created some time ago and is here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/229819-inverse-atascii-atari-8-bit-productivity-podcast/ It came to my attention that many 8 bitters don't venture outside this forum, and some of you may find the podcast entertaining. You can find the podcast website at http://inverseatascii.info You can find the podcast on iTunes or download it from the website. I apologize if the cross post offends anyone. It wont be repeated. Thanks!

snicklin #3 Posted November 18, 2014 I am listening to InverseATASCII at the moment, as well as Player/Missile and Antic. I'm reading/writing Pro© Atari and reading ABBUC. We've got it good at the moment, very good.
FifthPlayer #4 Posted November 18, 2014 I also listen to all three, and enjoy them all. "InverseATASCII" is a great name, and a great premise, for a podcast. Are you planning to cover some of the type-in productivity apps on the podcast? I'm thinking primarily of SpeedScript and SpeedCalc, though I'm sure there are others.
+Ripdubski #5 Posted November 18, 2014 Thanks for the compliments! Though I hadn't specifically set out to cover type-ins, there are a few that were on my radar. SpeedScript and SpeedCalc in particular. So yes, they will be covered. I used SpeedScript extensively through high school, and sometimes AtariWriter, but favored SpeedScript due to the use of the true descender font. Bill Lange #6 Posted November 18, 2014 We've got it good at the moment, very good. I second that! With a handful of great podcasts, its like back in the day, waiting for the next issue of Antic, Analog or Compute! to show up in the mailbox to get some great Atari content. Regards, Bill
+slx #7 Posted November 18, 2014 I just finished the Calculator episode and now there's yet another one. I need to move away from my workplace to get enough commuting time for all the Atari podcasts Seriously, anyone who hasn't listened to Inverse ATASCII should give it a try!

+DrVenkman #9 Posted November 26, 2014 Season 1 Episode 5, APX Decision Maker, has been released. http://inverseatascii.info/2014/11/25/s1e5-apx-decision-maker/ I listened today at work - great job as usual. I do have one small nit about your pronunciation of the word "attribute" - as a noun (in this episode, for instance), the emphasis is on the first syllable. As you pronounced it, it's a verb (e.g., attributing a statement to the person who made it). I know it's a silly thing, but a I've done a fair amount of professional public speaking and things like that catch my attention. But content-wise, excellent! Keep up the great work.

MAC-42 #12 Posted December 16, 2014 My wife monkeys around with SQL databases at work as part of her job. I think I'll have her give this a listen to see how things were back then. Thanks, Wade.

shazzner #20 Posted March 24, 2015 I really like this podcast! I think it would also work well as a youtube series as sometimes it's a bit hard to follow along by audio only. I'm really curious if any of this software would be at all useful in this day in age.

+Ripdubski #22 Posted March 25, 2015 Thanks for the feedback. Funny coincidence I have a version of S1E13 that is chapterized AAC with the screen shots embedded. I experimented with it yesterday. But AAC has its own set of drawbacks for many listeners. I'll post it here tomorrow for those interested.
+Allan #23 Posted March 25, 2015 I would love to see someone do youtube tutorials with these programs. Something similar to all the Microsoft, Adobe, etc. software tutorials you see on line. By the way, love the new podcast, just wish there was more to the program. That's the problem with some of the APX stuff. Some of the apps tended to be for very specific tasks although that was what was great about APX at the same time. Some of those programs would probably never would have been published by other software publishers. Allan
+Ripdubski #24 Posted March 25, 2015 Agree, this one was very simple with only 3 functions making it short. I'll make up for it soon.
+Ripdubski #25 Posted March 25, 2015 Here is the link for the enhanced version of S1E13. It is chapterized AAC. Note that this was an experiment. As such there may be too many chapter marks, in the wrong spots, etc. I was mainly playing with embedding the screen shots in the right locations. When playing, it should show artwork/screenshots at the appropriate spots. https://inverseatascii.files.wordpress.com/2015/03/s1e13enhanced.m4a Adding the screen shots tacked on a bit of time to the production. I don't think I'll continue this practice because I want to reduce the production time. AAC also provides it's own set of challenges for many listeners. Im still curious what your thoughts are surrounding it.
