zylon
Here we are in the final round of season 7, and the brawl for it all between our 2 top-ranked players this season. Only 2 points separate them. (ties go to rounds won) Without further ado... Our game this round is Space Dungeon on default starting game. Do not use the 1-controller hack if emulating! Otherwise, emulation is allowed, as are custom controllers. Pics preferred, but not required except for HSC records and wins. Season ends Sunday, November 30th 2014 @10pm EST HSC record: Bust it for a bonus point! atariron82
Congratulations to sdamon for his mind-crushing 700+K score He could probably hold a seminar on how to last more than 5 minutes in this classic Between the endlessly spawning pinweels and the relentless fast moving assassin style enemies, I rarely make it to the bonus room with much of anything. I did manage a score of 21,720(level 2), but my cat jumped on the Atari and tripped the power button! Here is the best I could do following that ---with photo:
zylon
A big thumbs up to the defending champ on his near-record busting performance! Thanks to all who played and made season 7 a success. Our special mini OE season has already begun. +Cafeman
Great job sdamon! I would love to watch you play this game and pick up some tips. You need to bank some extra lives to reach the upper levels with the high point treasures, but that is easier said than done.

+DamonicFury
The real trick seems to be staying alive, and, as you say, banking some lives in the first four rounds or so. If you can manage that, the treasures start to give you so many points that you can just collect a handful of the best ones each level and make a beeline for the exit, trying to rob the Thief of whatever he's carrying before doing so. By doing so, and not wasting lives trying to fully complete each level, you can keep earning lots and lots of lives. Of course, by level 15 or so, the game gets so vicious that even tons of lives may no longer be enough! It also helps a bit if you can find a working alternative to those pesky non-self-centering sticks, which all too often send you careening into an enemy you could have otherwise avoided. +Cafeman
I was playing on Dreamcast emulation with 2 DC controllers, and it was very hard to keep them in place and to coordinate my thumbs. I prefer the 5200 sticks with a coupler.
+DamonicFury
Here's what I used, but it clearly won't be an option for most players: Really wish the Wicos were more common so that more people could enjoy them!
