Mini Reset Button for TI-99/4A Cartridges

Recommended Posts

I've seen photos in the past of reset buttons that people have installed in their cartridges. Now being that I've never 'gotten around' to totally ripping apart my console again, I thought it would be nice to install a button in a couple of my cartridges....

... so with that in mind, if anyone reading this has done it, what exact button did you use? Could you post a couple of photos (inside & out) of the finished product?

UberGROM boards have a pair of jumpers on the cartridge Reset line to make it really easy to put a reset switch in place--there are also pads there to hard wire one if that is how you want to go about it. . .

Question I have on the reset switch and the UberGrom board is which one is good to use, or would we need to make our own. The perfect type would be a PC style motherboard switch as that is normally closed(if I remember right), but the connector to put on the header is longer than the space on the UberGrom board between the header and the socket to fit.

That's why I'd like someone to post a photo or two, and possibly their mounting technique. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the cartridge and mounting something like this underneath.

Possibly some model airplane glue to cement the plastic of the switch to the plastic of the cartridge?

Note: the best way to put a switch on the UberGROM is to attach wires to a 2-prong jumper block and run the switch to the front left corner of the case (there aren't any front jumpers there). If the wired jumper block won't fit, just run wires from the two pads placed near the existing jumper for that purpose and remove the jumper block to enable the switch.
