+Curious Sofa #26 Posted December 4, 2014 This kind of pandering to teenage boys has been going on since before Mortal Kombat. On a positive note, I really enjoy how that series has shaped up the last several editions. But it's not new, not by far.
cybercylon #27 Posted December 4, 2014 There have been things like this before, and there will be things like this again. I agree with Rex Dart.... not worth paying attention to. It will have a short lived shock value, but very few will play it. I doubt anyone will even really remember it in a few years.

moycon #29 Posted December 6, 2014 The only commentary on modern gaming this is is that there are more games than ever before and it's easier to make games than ever before. As such, it's a given that every possible tactic and game type, no matter how distasteful, will be attempted. And I'll add there is a market for everybody's tastes even if popular opinion doesn't agree with said tastes. There are people in this world that pay money to watch other people poop on someone else. there are people in this world that pay money to watch other people step on scrotum sacks with high heels. There are people in this world that pay to watch one person throwing up in another persons mouth! Why would a person not assume there wasn't a market for something like this? Tupin #30 Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) This is actually a pretty intelligent artistic statement. I actually genuinely believe this, and if you can see what they're trying to do, it's actually pretty funny. If you look at it, this is a parody what someone who hates video games (whether they think they're too violent/sexist etc) thinks people who play video games want to play. And by being that, it's clever. Edited December 6, 2014 by Tupin
FastRobPlus #31 Posted December 6, 2014 I was thinking about another thread where someone said that most games are now crass, violent, and anti-social. It made me think about all the battleships, tanks and aircraft I destroyed playing Air Sea Battle and Combat! as a child. How many people were in those ships? How many simulated lives did I not just wipe out, but wipe out with a smile on my face? I never want to go back to those dark days...
Gamemoose #33 Posted December 8, 2014 Personally, I don't think this game should be condemned as some of you (and others) have. Like anything, it has a right to exist on the market along with the slasher films and "questionable" books that have been made. If you don't like it, don't play it. Express your opinion why you don't like it but don't go out of your way to vilify it. It's interesting how GTA is brought up in comparison in regards to the goal of the game. True, the goal is not to mow down innocents by the truckload in GTA but, if I'm not mistaken, you play as a criminal character performing criminal acts to get the job done in order to be the top criminal. This involves murder and killing of other criminals and that makes it "ok", just because they don't make an honest living and are "bad guys" to your character? And while it's not the point, the sandbox style play allows you to go out and flatten/maim/kill/blow up innocents, at any time. Just because you CAN. The player can make it their point of the game and the consequences are fixed by getting a new paint job and being a good citizen for a while. How's that better than "Hatred"? Your actions can affect a much larger group of virtual people with your character's law-breaking ways and that gets a pass? Why the hypocrisy? Games like GTA, "Hotline Miami" should be on the same level as "Hatred" because you are doing "bad things" against society in both. Why support such a game that focuses on murder and brutality against innocent people but will play games that focus on murder and brutality against criminals (who potentially have families) with potential innocent casualties on top of the exploitation, theft of personal property, potential drug trafficking to and any other type of activity in GTA/Hotline/etc. that negatively affects the lives of innocents?
