Just picked up a couple $28 consoles from the Dollar General website. Free shipping too. Yay!

I used to work a lot of holidays when I was getting started because I needed the day's money. No one would be helping me by not shopping and making it hard to justify the staff.

 

That said I nearly ordered the Genesis from the website at the sale price. No need to go out, your conscience is safe.

Since Dollar General opened at 7am today, and the cat wakes me up at 7am, I picked up the Intellivision Flashback for $28 around 7:30am. Two employees working, and two other cars in the parking lot.

Brand new building just opened recently.

Creepy that the lights in the back of the store were on, but off at the front.

The lady stocking asked if I needed any help as I spotted the Flashbacks.

I said that I was looking for the Intellivision Flashback and they're right here. She replied, "I had the original when those came out."

I'll get some play out of this Flashback until the flash carts sell, then the controllers are going to be modded for my Intellivision II!

I was the only person at my Dollar General today when they opened other than the cashier. They were fully stocked with all three Flashbacks and the Genesis console.

 

Picked this one and the Coleocvision version up.

Free shipping? They charged me $4.95. Did you pay with PayPal? Was also surprised that they added $2.xx sales tax.

Free shipping if you spend over $40, which you could do by buying two. Sales tax normally charged if you live in a state where the have a local brick and mortar store.

I tried picking up one this morning and their CC scanners weren't working. I found a code for free shipping with a $30+ order so I added something small and got it that way.

 

Can I knock six off my 125 list now?

Well I ordered 2 Intys and 2 Colecos (buying a couple for friends). I did have to pay 9% California sales tax though.

 

And yes, I did use PayPal for it.

The price for the Intellivision flashback is $20 today. The colecovision flashback is $20. too. I don't know if we will see prices lower than this. My guess is that the items will be shipped & delivered after Christmas.

The deadline for Christmas shipping has passed I am pretty certain.

Awesome. I hope those of you who buy 3, 4, heck 8 copies of every game (homebrew and original) have been out buying multiple FBs as well. The more they sell, the more likely we'll get a FB2 with even better features/games!

 

I'm using it as an excuse to gift people antiquated 1980s technology. And most kids I show it to seem to love it (along with the Atari FB).

Here in Canada, visions.ca had free shipping for the Intelli and the Coleco Flashbacks. They are $52 Cnd each with tax, no shipping charge.

I ordered the Intellivision version... supposed to be here in about a week or so.
