sandmountainslim #1 Posted November 29, 2014 I don't know if this is the proper place to discuss the Pinball Arcade version of Big Shot and if not feel free to move this thread. What do you guys think of this one?? It seems I have MORE balls go STDM on Big Shot than ANY pinball I have ever played! I bet in it's quarter (or nickel) eating days it left a lot of pissed off consumers. Any tricks to it I am missing? Whats the general opinion of this table. ComputerSpaceFan #2 Posted November 30, 2014 I love Big Shot, first played it on the Gottleb Collection on GameCube and I really find its old school EM charm very relaxing. I can't find much info about the real table though. Maybe that's because (according to the history of the table on Pinball Arcade) it's the two-player version of a previous table from 1973 called Hot Shots. Austin #3 Posted December 1, 2014 I like this table but TPA version is going to be more frustrating than the real thing. The physics aren't really very realistic and there is pretty much no saving the ball when it nears the outlanes. Just try to get control of the ball (let it bounce off one flipper to the other then cradle it), get your aim going well and just go for those drop targets. The more the better. TwinChargers #4 Posted December 2, 2014 One thing that I have noticed you have to do is to bump the table pretty regularly if you see the ball headed toward the middle. Same goes with the outlanes on the side. I don't bump pinball machines in real life, but on TPA its needed especially on Big Shot. For the record, I really like Big Shot. The rules are not overly complicated, and it provides a good challenge. It was this table and Funhouse where I really got better at stopping the ball and aiming for shots instead of just trying to keep the ball alive. Saneless #5 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) If you want to stop being frustrated with this game, get Pinbot. That game is such a monster, specifically the left outlane, that every table afterwards will be a treat. I originally bought it because it was one of the couple tables I actually played as a kid. Well, they must have modified that lane because I don't remember it being so damn punishing. It's seriously flawed IMO. As far as straight down the middle (guessing your acronym), nudging works great to prevent that. Not sure which version you're playing on, but on the consoles (and Vita) it's easy. I'm not a fan of nudging on the phones/tablets. Edited December 2, 2014 by Saneless
