Oh my! Congratulations, grips03!!! FANTASTIC FEAT!

 

Is this the first time you encounter the "Kill Screen"? If so, may I ask, what did you think when you saw it?

I was scared as I had one or two lives left and I tried to complete the room, but could not get down to the lower part of the screen and then I was thinking the snowman would come out soon. I was all kind of a panic to tell the truth.

Well, that was exactly my intention, so I'm glad to hear that it worked as planned.

 

Just know that you it's sort of like a "bonus" level, and you were never in any danger. Visually, the level itself is a carefully constructed "corruption" of the three different mazes, but the layout is of one in particular. You can follow the floor-plan, but it's hard to figure it out when all the walls and items seem to be in the wrong place.

 

It is designed so that when the Snowman Attack event triggers (either by time-out or by picking up a number of presents), the level itself ends and freezes, simulating a "crash." Therefore, there is no way to complete the "kill screen"; the most you can hope for is to pick up as many items as possible.

 

It's just a nice bonus "easter egg" for those who finish all levels on all ranks, within a single game. It is only available on the cartridge version, though. Congratulations again!

I missed perfect Christmas by 4 candies. One in Candy Cove and 3 in another.

I myself played a bit more and beat my old score by a handsome amount. This is close to my best score ever. Plus I managed to achieve the Ranger Rank once again, which I haven't done since 2012.

Perfect Christmas is certainly challenging.

I haven't had much time to play this year. I did pretty well earlier, but I can't seem to beat the Robot level the second time around. I went into it with plenty of lives, but just kept losing presents faster than I could grab them. I'll upload my score this week and hopefully take another stab at it.

if you look, buddy christ is laying down taking a nap. I kept knocking him over when i was testing my ultimate intellivision flashback. I put him back upright last night. I am however doing better using the flashback controllers. I am still getting used to the feel of the controllers though.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you like the game so much. However, I can tell you categorically that it is not a perfect game; it definitely can be improved. And as matter of fact... it has.

 

There is a superior version of the game, one with many subtle changes that give even more depth to the game-play. A version more challenging, and yet more fun than the original. Only one person has this version right now, and he likes it so much that he wants to share it with the world.

 

Someday, we may just do that.

No improvement today (actually, took me some yesterday and tonight to complete) ... started out with 9 lives going into yellow but things fell apart rapidly for some reason. Every level, the ghost got me at the worst time!

Btw, this was my first game of the day. Usually i restart 100 times before i get past the first four levels without dying or not getting perfects
