Lost Dragon
Bit off topic, but.... Just had (another) interview i did last year come 'in', nothing Jaguar related, though he did work on the A8 hardware, but on subject of pushing hardware, thought this snippet (consider it a teaser) might be of interest: '......there were a bunch of new systems on the horizon with the promise of new and shiny things to play with. The Genesis was lovely hardware when you come down to it, and was one of the last platforms that had a long enough lifecycle for programmer to really push it and squeeze everything out of it.' So again, from coders point of view, it really boiled down to hardware having long enough life cycle to really push hardware.
Christos
It's also a matter of games. In the ST we know exactly which games push the hardware to its limits. Enchanted land, Interphase, swiv etc, The jaguar has a very limited library of games so there is a perception of potential for something more. The problem is that the jag was forced to do things it wasn't good at, mainly 3d. So we'll never know how good 2d shooters and platformers we could get. So there is untapped potential, but not in the 3d for the shake of 3d direction.
