problem with synthcart...or my 2600?

Hello just got my synth cart a couple of weeks ago and got my keyboard controlers on the weekend... The synth cart has started makeing a tone in the background when everything should be silent... i have it lined into a vcr for recording and have tried also tried a standard conection to the tv.. i still get this tone.. ive cleaned the cart. Even opened up the unit up and cleaned the switches.. still i get this tone .. it repeats about every 8 seconds....

It's possibly a bad cartridge, although that's pretty uncommon. I'd be glad to exchange it for another to eliminate that as a possibility.

I will try to test in another Atari first.. but if it is the cart i will let you know.. i was hopeing somebody recognized the tone... or had the same glitch... im worried its my Atari..

By any chance is your Atari modified to allow for quarter inch jack input? I have two Ataris that have been modified and one of them makes very similar sounds when recording, just by being on. I think it might be your Atari.

I Think its my Atari... Any thing i should avoid when it comes to another system and synthcart??? i have my Eye on a sears Tele-games arcade at the moment...
