Using DS as alarm clock

Recommended Posts

I started using my DS as an alarm clock few days ago. Of course, the light is turned off.

I wonder if I can damage my DS if I keep it running all the time?

Any component in any piece of hardware is going to have a set lifespan, whether it's thousands, ten-thousands, or perhaps even hundreds-of-thousands of hours, eventually it will fail. Leaving the DS won't necessarily do any immediate damage, but it will "shorten" the life of the unit in the sense that the components are wearing down at a rate that's faster than if you were using it for gaming only. While I want to say that the difference would be negligible in the long run, you never know.

I have a tendancy to leave it on for days or weeks at a time anyways, so While I'm sure it can shorten the lifespan of the system, it's probably not going to be a noticeable amount.
