+therealbountybob
C'mon release a version that works from mydos please as I have a guests eager to play Atari (whether they like it or not!) Having a fun paddles games evening
Marius
Ok, I will do that next year..... I tried XEX-loader in Altirra and MyIDE-][ fat32loader. Both work, so I did not check further. Hmmm, I want to keep it below $4000 to make it work on all Atari's too. Happy new year! But the big question is: does the MyIDE ][ FAT32 loader work on these 16K atari's? If not, you also could release a bootable disk version with your own load routine. That could run on 16K atari's as well. Or a tape release ( I know some venturous people here on AtariAge did consider releasing a game with treasures and rooms on tape).
+CharlieChaplin
Well, so far the only solution I have found to play Birdfood 1.1 from a real Atari and /or a real disk (not cart, not tape, not XEX loader or FAT32 loader) is to convert it into a bootdisk without VTOC and DIR. The bootdisk works on my 1050 drive, but I still would prefer a working file version... Birdfood_v11_bootdisk.zip
+CharlieChaplin
Well, a fixed file-version 1.1 is available from Homesoft: http://www.mushca.com/f/atari/index.php?dl=410
mr-atari
:-) Thanks guys! I am working on the request, but I also found a little bug in multi-player. You can not go all in a hole without coming out ever. So I fixed that first. Also the extra game features work to get you further. On request of my nephew, the bird will move back always when you eat food. I have a bootdisk that runs on a 600xl un-expanded Atari, but not happy with the result. Writing an OS is easier that a bootable-game..... I want to release .CAS .ATR .XEX and .ROM later this month. Perhaps some (suggested) artwork. Later! Sijmen.

I find writing a (static) tool also less complicated. There are obviously programmers who are skilled in writing demos, and programmers who are skilled in writing games, and then the third group that writes tools/OS's. Great to see you moving from group #3 to group #2…. perhaps a cool FX-demo one day too?
mr-atari
Okay guys, final version. Attached: V1.2 or here: www.mr-atari.com/birdfood Instant fun for 1-4 players! Included are these files: ROM, ATR, CAS, MP3 and XEX. The XEX loads at $1000. MP3 to record your own cassette! Tested on 400/800 and XL/XE with 16k minimum. Perhaps there are volunteers for artwork? ....this is not my thing...... I like SenorRossie suggestion very much :-) (Cartridge-label, Cassette-inlay, Disk-label, t-shirt...) Enjoy the game! Grtz, Sijmen. Don't forget: * Cartidge, Disk and Tape versions * Nice cases and cover art * Merchandise? (mugs, t-shirts, caps, bird droppings?) An idea for the t-shirt would be: Beware of the Bird Too slow ... Birdfood! BIRDFOOD V1.2.ZIP
