Christmas Gaming Traditions?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone here has any Christmas gaming traditions? Maybe a game you boot up every year at this time, something you play with the family, etc.

For me (and this is going to sound so lame) I like to fire up my old save file for Animal Crossing on the Gamecube at Christmas. Christmas 2003 is when my dad got us kids a Gamecube (though he ended up playing it just as much as we did), which is what got me into console gaming, and Animal Crossing was the first game I ever played on a console that my family owned. Ever since, every Christmas I play Animal Crossing for a few hours, just to re-live a lot of the good memories from years past.

What about you guys?

The past few years I have purchased and played the 8 bit xmas carts on the NES. If mine arrives in time this year I will do the same. I ordered a little late this year. If not maybe I'll just play one of the old ones again.

No particular game per se (besides AA Holiday carts), but we try to play the 2600 for a little bit on Christmas Eve or day, :)

Mario Party with the family!! Good call on the Animal Crossing though, a great time to visit your village...

I also like to play Activisions Skiing for 2600 around this time of year.. And Cliffhanger on my Sega CD, and 1080 Snowboarding on N64. Basically any snowy games :)

The winter level on Banjo Kazooie for N64 is amazing this time of year as well..

The Color Computer 2 and Amiga get put to use for Christmas gaming.

And this year the Atari 400 and STe will be running games too! :) :) :)
