License for Jaguar files?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Over the last few years of dipping my feet into the Jaguar development environment, I've amassed a large number of files and folders. Does anyone have any idea where some of these are from and what the license is on them? I'd like to be able to get them into a github repo so that other developers can use them (if I'm allowed, of course).

Here are a few samples of the kinds of things I've got:

  1. 3DS2JAG
  2. JAG.ZOO - First edition Jaguar development tools (mentions a person named 'John' in the README)
  3. 8 bit object example from Lars Hannig
  4. American Hero
  5. BJL Bidirectional Debug Kit
  6. BJL Uploader
  7. Breakout 2000 sources
  8. Butch ASIC (what is ASIC?)
  9. CatBox
  10. Chaos Agenda
  11. Checkered Flag sources
  12. Colors Example
  13. Cortina
  14. Crescent Galaxy
  15. Cybermorph
  16. DOSStick
  17. Dr.Typo
  18. Flare Technology Files

The list goes on. Can anyone help with what I've got so far? I've attached a screenshot of my folder layout.

Thank-you.

@ZeroSquare OK Great. I've pinged Mr. Vendel on the forums, here. With any luck it'll hit his email (or he checks this forum's IM feature regularly) and he'll respond.

Does anyone else recognize the other folders and can put me in touch with the people responsible?

What about the license for assets in Jaguar games, e.g., the music from Tempest 2000?

Were they also included in the release to public domain?

They said they gave up any rights regarding the "vintage" hardware platform and would not hinder the efforts of developers. They didn't transfer any of their claims over IP they themselves created or licensed.

Yeah -_-

A guy can dream.

That said, whoever did Typhoon on the PC included the Tempest modules and I don't think anything happened.

Could I ask that you don't put the U235 Sound Engine on github, thanks. By all means a handy reference to the website (www.u-235.co.uk) would be nice. But I'd rather not have it downloaded from loads of different places.

Thanks
