Please create a Flashback subforum

Recommended Posts

Some peole are creating threads for idividual Flashback topics, cluttering the forum.

Others are replying to the big Flashback thread, making it hard to read (75 pages already).

IMO having a Flashback subforum would be better.

P.S.: My two Flashbacks arrived yesterday, didn't find time to unpack them yet.

I think that's a good idea. There is enough interest to justify it, I believe.

If Colecovision Flashback discussion isn't welcome in the Colecovision forum, we already have a dedicated systems sub-forum.

http://atariage.com/forums/forum/19-dedicated-systems/

But push it away will not only mean that people will have to visit an infrequently visited portion of the board to discuss it, but it will also reduce the audience for traditional discussion here as some of the folks that mostly visit here to discuss their new Flashback system will stop making this part of their daily round and will be less likely to partake in other discussions.

Doesn't seem worthwhile when the vast majority of the discussion has occurred in a single thread.

The ColecoVision/ADAM forum is a good spot for this. The main problem is that it's difficult to find things in a 75 page thread. We just need to start new threads for new topics about the Flashback.

I don't know how many sub-forums of the main CV&ADAM Forum that Albert is willing to make to keep things tidy and easier to find, but if a CV Flashback sub-forum were to be created, I think a Team Pixelboy sub-forum should be created as well seeing what an important part to the community they have been... right alongside CollectorVision and Opcode Games.

The threads pertaining to the CV Flashback and Team Pixelboy should be easy enough to tracks down.

Leave things as they are. All the sub-forums do is water down traffic to the ColecoVision forum which is what it is all about.

It would make more sense to have a Flashback forum within dedicated consoles.

It is emulating a ColecoVision, it runs ColecoVision games, it is meant to look and feel like a ColecoVision. The people interested in it are probably mostly the same as those interested in the real ColecoVision. Thus, IMO, it makes sense to have it as a subforum of the ColecoVision subforum.

Even better would be both: Just like the ColecoVision programming forum is a subforum of both the ColecoVision and the Programming forum.

A sub-forum for a topic where 95% of the discussion around it has taken place in a single thread? Still sounds pointless to me.

As one poster wrote, perhaps the problem is that we have pretty much just one cover-all topic that is 75+ pages long.

I think folks should start asking their FB questions in separate topic threads.

i think they should create a new forum topic all together called "plug and play retro video games"

and then they would have their own place where everyone could talk about all of them.

This. It amazes me that thread is 75+ pages long.
