Picked these up at Gamestop recently. I don't currently have a PS Vita but Child of the Light is one of the games I wanted for the system.

The loose DS game is Metroid Prime Hunters.

Picked these up over the long weekend. My wedding anniversary was yesterday, so the wife and I took a day and went to some of our favorite antique stores, and I hit up a few game stores as well. Records came from the antique store, the Switch stuff came from Gamestop, and the PS2/Xbox/SNES stuff came from a local shop I like.

It’s been a while since I posted but Photobucket finally caved last may so I think hosting is free again. Let's hope it stays that way.

Just got back from Vegas and visited a nice game store that also had a small arcade. Good selection albeit small. This fighting game ain’t bad, lots of great moves and varied characters. Colors could be better, seems a bit washed out for my tastes but it appears to just be a styling choice.

I had the Sharp Twin for a while but got me two Monitors; they take Composite, S-Video, and RGB. Score. Build in speaker too and also a pass through.

Some random pickups out in Philly, always need more Neo Geo bags, this is my 2nd one. Turbo MVS controller is absolutely necessary for Viewpoint. My fingers almost fell off and you have to switch between turbo and not for charge shots. This game is impossible.

Pickups from Sage Mantis in VA, I 100% completed Super Metroid and I am convinced it is a perfect game. What a masterpiece. Lester not so much.

Nice Craigslist finds. The game gear stuff was so cheap like $5 a game. I was so lucky.

This thing was nuts. It was like $10,000 brand new. I just paid $50 for it from some old lady who has hundreds of games in her garage. Also picked up two Namco guns and Point blank for the PS1 as well as Time Crisis. You hook it up to an XBOX/XBOX 360 PS2/PS3 or any PCvia USB and it simply makes you sweat bullets. I played NFS most wanted on it and you are so sore afterwards, very responsive and amazing.

I may have bought a few Wii games this month. :D

I made it my goal for October to get all the horror games for the Wii that I didn't have yet (except for Alone in the Dark because that game is terrible) and after this week's pickups the only one I'm missing now is Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero, which is proving surprisingly difficult to find with nice undamaged case artwork. I guess most of the people who bought RE 0 on the Wii just didn't take care of their copies very well, but it's not a rare game by any means so I should find a copy at some point before the month is up.

Speaking of rare games, the real highlight for me of all these recent pickups was finally getting a copy of Crazy Machines! Growing up I used to play The Incredible Machine every day after school on my Windows 3.1 PC and loved that game to bits, so when I found out that there was a really faithful and quite good spiritual sequel on the Wii I had to get it. Unfortunately it turned out that Crazy Machines was one of the top 20 rarest games for the Wii (you can find the full list of rarest Wii games here if you're interested) so it took me a long time to find a nice condition copy at a non-exorbitant price, but I'm super happy to finally have it and will definitely be playing it this weekend.

Other interesting and noteworthy bits about this round of pickups is that Calling and Geometry Wars: Galaxies are both new and still sealed (though they won't stay that way for long) and Rabbids Go Home: A Comedy Adventure inexplicably came with a copy of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl instruction manual and registration card stuffed in the case along with the manual for Rabbids Go Home. I'm certainly not complaining though, since that should save me a little cash down the road when I add Smash Bros. to the collection since I can now go looking for a manual-less copy.

And oh, as long as I'm posting all these recent Wii pickups I thought I'd take an updated and current picture of my Wii collection while I was at it. In total there's about 180 Wii games I'd like to own and I'm now 1/3 of the way there! :)

I've been curious to the quality of that guys work. If you're up to it I'd love to see detailed pictures of the guts of that controller please.

If i have a chance tomorrow, I'll crack it open. Overall quality is decent. Plays about the same as your average nes controller. The buttons and d pad seem fairly responsive. The overlay could be better, but isn't horrible.

Did a bit of shopping...

Bought a couple of blank PCB for the Apple II/+/e. Expect an A2e controlled auduino synth board in the future!

I then bought a few other thing on Apple2Online store:

* two clean and working unidisk floppy drives

* new unidisk floppy controller

* Epson APL printer interface with cable

And on ebay:

* A book on interfacing with the Apple II/+/e

* two boxes of 10 DSDD 5.25" floppies.

Coupled with my ReactiveMicro drive/turbo and my CF card which include Merlin-8 and I'm ready to start coding as soon as the stuff gets here.

Hows the BSG game?

Extremely meh.

The concept is cool: It takes place when Adama is still flying a Viper, and fighting in the Human/Cylon war that happened before the shows. I can't tell whether it's related to the 1978 show or the reboot. BSG games are tough to come by, so at least it exists!

It steals a lot of the gameplay from games like Colony Wars on the PS1, but plays a lot worse. Everything is super twitchy, and mission objectives can be unclear. The worst part: I couldn't even get past the first mission. It has multiple parts, and if you die at any time, they send you back to the very beginning. After that happened, I just shut the game off and moved on.

For $5 CIB, I'm not at all disappointed, but I wouldn't pay more than that.

Thanks. I'm surprised he doesn't have any diodes used for the * and 2 buttons. Neat. Thanks for the look at the guts. As I assumed it's a nintendo brand pcb that is modded. Decent work. Looks like he uses brand new shells and carbon dot rubbers. Nice that it's not 30 year old ones :)
