Missing spacebar

Hi I have a ti-99/4a but its missing a spacebar. I heard that some people on these forms have dead space bars.

There is a green square if it helps.

Good that you found us here--and the green square says that you probably have the leaf-spring type of key switches. There have been several folks asking questions on dead keyboards in the last few months, so maybe one of them will have a spare keytop of the right type--as the leaf-spring type are the best ones for a TI overall.

Sometimes that happens with some photos or cameras, and sometimes the files are just too big. One way around that problem is to view the image on your PC, then press the PRINT SCREEN button and then paste the image into your graphics program as a new image and then save it. The new screen saved images always seem to load just fine.

That's the Leaf-Spring type--you can see them in the socket. Best TI Keyboard around--and if you get a sticky key (repeats or doesn't register), just pull the cap and carefully clean them with a cotton swab soaked in denatured alcohol.

 

Now lets hope someone has a dead one of that type around that they can pull a spacebar from for you. You might also want to ask Infernalkeith--I think he mentioned having a few sets of keys a while back.
