Atari 600xl video issue

Recommended Posts

I recently got an Atari 600xl and its only displaying in black and white. I'm using the same video hookup I use for my 7800.

Am I missing something here?

you are using the RF output? sometimes TV's take a couple tries tuning to the output channel before they manage to pickup the chroma signal over the RF output. some simply refuse to work.

Try adjusting the color pot. It requires a small ( eye glass ) screwdriver, and is a small hole on the bottom case. Turn it back and forth to see if you get any color. If you do, the adjust to your liking.

I wil test it later but i don't think that it wil work.

Hello,

I have test it, still the same no colour.

I think 600xl monitor is others than 800xl i now where composite video pin is deferent on 600xl.

Check this site

Pinout

Din5df.png

5 PIN DIN 180° (DIN41524) FEMALE at the computer.

Pin Description 1 Composite Luminance (Composite Video on PAL 600XL) 2 Ground 3 Audio Output 4 Composite Video 5 Composite Chroma (not on 800XL (except "800XLF"), 1200XL; Ground on PAL 600XL)

This mean 600xl compposite video is on pin 1 instead of pin 4.

Gr. Marco
